The Moon and the Earth

Chapter 24

Moon

I looked at the ceiling I had painted years ago. I remember begging my parents to let me paint the ceiling the night sky, it was before they let me go outside. I only had a glimpse of it from my window. So I wanted to have a big glimpse of it right from my bed.

"The moon moves."

I sat up to see Maddie standing in the doorway.

"It also changes." I said.

She laid down next to me and held my hand.

"my dad made a light holder that moves every day and changes position. So that whatever the phase of moon outside, it would be the same inside."

"If you don't mind me asking why did they name you Moon?"

I turned my head to look at her.

"Well... I was kinda produced under a full moon." I said giggling.

She busted out laughing.

"Also they said that one day when someone looked at the moon they would think of me."

"That is all I think of." she muttered looking into my eyes.

She moved her hand to my waist and pulled me close to her. She wrapped both her arms around me and held me close.

"I want you forever." She whispered into my ear.

"You have me, i'm yours."

She smiled and kissed me.  I nuzzled my face into her neck, feeling her warmth all around me.

Maddie

"You're my Earth." She said looking into my eyes.

"Don't you mean sun?"

She shook her head and looked up at the ceiling.

"If the earth stopped spinning, after the horror of people dying, the moon's orbit would start spinning the earth again, the moon has a stronger relationship with earth than the sun. The moon gets to watch earth all day. The moon will always be there for the Earth, just like i will always be here for you."

I smiled. "And I will always be here for you." I giggled. "In sickness and in health, literally speaking for both of us."

She smiled bigger than ever it was the most beautiful thing ever.
"I love you." I said.
"I love you too."
