Maddie's POV

With her head on my chest, she fell asleep again. Her words echoed in my ears. I wrapped my arms tight around her. I didn't want to loose her, and I didn't want to be the reason why I lost her.

I was in and out of the hospital when I saw her. I passed out during class so they admitted me. Once I was good enough to roam, but I still had to be put under careful watch. I was assigned to make sure she was alive. And after that I always signed up to watch her.

I got attached,  I didn't know why. I just did.

"What if she wakes up while your watching her."

I looked up from my book at Sarafina. She was sweeping the floor, something she always did to keep her mind occupied.

"I will call the nurse and explain to her what happened." I said looking back down at my book.

She stopped sweeping and hovered over her.

"She is kinda hot." she said looking at her.

"Get away from her." I said standing up.

"Is someone getting attached to someone who is dead?" She took a step back form her.

I looked down at her myself. she was beautiful. Her chest rose and fell. her hair was matted to the pillow and on her shoulders. She didn't look like she was in a dangerous coma, but she was asleep. I wonder if she would wake up, and if it would be under my watch. I wonder what she was thinking the moment before she was suddenly in a coma. If she was with anyone, who that person was, what that person meant to her.

"Ok your starting to drool a little."

I took a step back from the bed.

"I am  going to keep watching her."

Sarafina looked up from sweeping looking quiet confused.

"I don't know why, I just have this gut feeling. And for whatever reason I want to be the one she sees when she does wake up, not some strange nurse."

"Oh and you aren't some strange teen that just so happens to be there when she wakes up, you know this chick has a boyfriend. Right?"

I didn't care. When she woke up, if she didn't want to be with me, I wouldn't bother her about it. But it was at least worth a shot."

I was brought back to the present when my arm started vibrating. I lifted it up to see it was Sarafina.

Sarafina: 'SO, you ditch your best friend to hang out with someone that is totally a stranger, and don't say she isn't you didn't even formally meet.'

Me: ' Don't be jealous.'

Sarafina: 'I'm not, it's just we had this planned for a while now, and you cancel on me last minute. That is really b*tchy Mads. Tonight was really important to me.'

Me: 'It isn't that big a deal, if you had the chance to go to someone you liked's house I wouldn't mind if you canceled on me. '

Sarafina: 'Yea whatever, meet me at the food court tomorrow, and don't bring the coma patient. We need to talk.'

Me: 'Alright.'

I tapped out and laid my arm back on Moon. Her breathing was deep. S.he was imperfect. I loved every bit of her. God knows how I fell in love so fast, but I just did. And I could only hope she did too.

I was still awake when she woke up. It was around nine o'clock. And the sun was risen.

"Goodmorning Sleeping Beauty." I said running my fingers through her silky hair.

"I'm not beautiful." she said sitting up and rubbing her eyes.

"Yea you are."

I sat up with her wrapping my arms around her waist.

"I don't think I wanna let go of you." I whispered into her ear.

"I don't blame you." she said leaning back into me.

"So what do you wanna do today?" I asked.

"hmmm," she looked up at me. "I wanna get a tattoo. I can since I'm past 18."

"We can get matching tattoos it could be sooo cliché!" I nearly yelled into her ear.
