Maddie

I looked into her crystal blue eyes. She looked back. I could feel my eyes becoming dryer, bu i kept them open.

"This is pointless." I said.

She smiled, but i could see her struggling. She blinked.

"HA. I win." i said as she rubbed her eyes. "Can i blink now."

She leaned forward and took in a quick breath and blew into my eyes causing me to blink.

"Why would anyone play anything like that."

She shrugged. I smiled at her and wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her into me. Ignoring everything else in the world. Everything i wanted was right here, in my arms.

It had been about a week since she left the hospital, and she was still adjusting to the new world.

"What do you love most about the world now."

She looked up at me and raised her eyebrows as if asking: really?

I nodded.

She leaned her head against my chest. "You."

I could feel butterflies in my stomach when she said this. I took her hand in mine and squeezed it. This moment was perfect.
"I woke up to you in the hospital. When you caught me I felt safe. I didn't want to be in anyone else's arms."
