China Hoggington made the best cupcakes in town, but when someone offended her, she would write rude things about them in frosting on the cupcakes. She also sewed ties for her Tie Boutique. She made formal and informal ties, diplomatic and not-so-diplomatic ties that were as offensive as her rude cupcakes. Everyone in town was wary of offending China, refuse to have formal diplomatic ties with it resulting in a reaction of informal not-so-diplomatic ties that China Hoggington would create "for balance".
One day, a little boy named Humphrey came to town. He loved to tiptoe, while wearing lots of ties, balancing cupcakes on his head, and tiptoeing across mud puddles. Everyone was quite impressed, and soon there were lots of imitators. It was amusing to see the various ways people attempted to traverse the puddle: on tiptoe, with cupcakes stacked on top of each other, with various colors or ties, or sometimes even other objects.
China Hoggington became rich with all the related sales of cupcakes and ties, and mellowed out in her old age, just making nice cupcakes and nice ties.
