Sluggo was waiting on the sofa in Nancy's living room for her to get ready for the Celebrity Tiptoe Banquet. He noticed a book on the table, and turned it over to read the blurb. It said "It's a story of innocence and double-cross, of race and class and rats who long to grow wings and become bats."
Sluggo was intrigued, and flipped thru the book. He randomly read a passage: "The following year, as manager of Ramona Gardens, he brought in several bats, who claimed that they had originally been rats, but had eaten "the magic Jell-O", and had awakened the next day to have wings. In truth they had never been rats at all..."
Sluggo felt great pity for the rats in the story, and decided to ask Nancy if he could borrow the book. Nancy then walked into the living room wearing a rat costume with wings sewn onto it, saying "I've got a great idea for our next tiptoe ballet!"
Sluggo laughed and they headed for the Celebrity Tiptoe Banquet, where Nancy's costume would be the envy of all.
