They're often depicted as slimy, unlovable creatures – but the winner of Amazon's Christmas story competition tells the tale of a remarkable slug named Steven, who wishes he could tiptoe, but couldn't, because he had no toes. But then me meets a cow named Cathy, who also can't tiptoe, because she has hooves, instead of toes. They form a Society of Imaginary Tiptoeing, where they meet on Thursday afternoons, drink mint tea, and take turns making up stories in which they tiptoe beautifully.
One Thursday, Holly Human asked if she could join the Society of Imaginary Tiptoeing. After serious deliberation, she was allowed to join, and it was discovered that her actual tiptoeing was sub par, compared to what the others could do in their imaginations. This made Holly Human quite sad, so they had a special session where they imagined they all were slimy creatures, and then they imagined that they all had hooves. Holly Human was surprisingly good at this, and everyone was happy.
