Chapter 14 ~ Valor

A/N: This might be the only chapter with Gold's point of view. Honestly, I'm a bigger fan of the breeder than the fighter. Anyway, enjoy.

Chapter 14 ~ Valor

[Gold's POV]

"So I told Explotaro, and yeah it was kinda creepy cause they just keep popping around—hey are you even —oh, great."

From the movements of the blanket, I can say that she has already fallen asleep. Man, I am that boring? I can't tell her a decent story that can keep her awake for long. 

"What the?" I whispered to myself,glancing at the clock. It's already four thirty-five in that morning!? Which means I have been blabbering to no one for more than an hour already.

I facepalmed. Now I'm the one who's not sleepy. I stood up and left her room, closing the door as quietly as I could.

I didn't even yawn, not even once. It's too early for breakfast. I'm still full because of Skylar's candy, anyway.

I went down to the living room and flopped down on the couch. Hmm, maybe I should go home, get my Xbox, and then return here. But then I'm sure to bump into Lyra or Crystal in some sort of way. I guess I'll stick to the TV.

Two hours later, while I was watching an action movie I was startled by my Pokégear ringing.

Ring... R-ring—

"I'm in the middle of a really awesome movie, thank you for interrupting." I said.

I'm just kidding.

"Isn't it too early-"

"Yeah, good morning, I've been up since four hours ago."

It was Red who called. He calls me every morning for updates about Skylar, ever since she had that riot with Blue at the river. I think he's concerned about her, although he wouldn't admit it.

"What happened?"

"Darkrai was on her roof last night while she was sleeping, so she had a nightmare."

"What!? Why is Darkrai here in Kanto?"

"That I have no idea. But don't worry-"

"Is she okay now, did you check on her last night?" Man, this guy's sure worried about Skylar. Shouldn't he be more worried about Yellow?

"Yes, don't worry, she's alright now. She woke me up four hours ago, because she can't sleep. Turns out she was afraid of having her nightmare come back. Well, she had a breakdown.... but don't worry, I conforted her until she was able to sleep."

"Thank Arceus, that's good. So, uh, did she tell you about her nightmare?"

"Yeah.... but you wouldn't want to know."

"Okay... so why not?"

"Trust me when I say you really wouldn't want to know." I'm just respecting Skylar. Some things need not to be known.

"Okay... Anything else?"

"After we got out of the cave? Ice cream day, to cheer her up. I almost forgot, I made her so happy yesterday!"

"That's great. I'm happy for her.. Thanks for watching her, taking care of her.."

"You're my best friend. Of course I'd help you. Besides, I'm one of Skylar's closest friends."

"Yeah, about that... She told me that you and Silver were her only friends. That only the two of you understand her."

"Well, she's having a little 'crisis' of her own, so I hope you can understand her mood swings. But you're her friend, I know it."
