Chapter 6 ~ Clarity
[Red's POV]
''Steelix, slam Liepard!''
''Liepard, stop it with night slash!''
''Dodge it and quickly use crunch!''
''Misdreavus, stop it with shadow ball!"
I couldn't be mistaken. That voice belonged to Skylar. Her opponent was a man in a black cape and a white mask with golden streaks, completely covering his face. No, this is not the same masked man who kidnapped Green and Silver when they were young. This one looked like he was attending a masquerade party. There was a small cage behind him, where a Pokémon was trapped inside.
I was a few meters behind Skylar, but the man didn't seem to notice me, and neither did Skylar. I noticed that she was wearing a lavender jacket. And now that I'm nearer, I could see that a Glaceon was inside the cage.
A Glaceon!? Skylar's Glaceon.... Lace.
"Misdreavus, use psybeam on Steelix. Liepard, when Magnemite gets close, use night slash." Skylar commanded.
I almost interrupted their battle if it weren't for Pika. "Pika!" he reminded me. It would be rude to interrupt, wouldn't it?
I've seen how Skylar trains with wild Pokémon, but this is my chance to know how she actually performs in a battle. Pika watched the battle with such curiosity. Magnemite fainted, and its owner returned it to its Poké ball.
"Fantastic, Liepard. Now Misdreavus, teleport randomly around Steelix and throw a shadow ball each time you pop out!" Skylar yelled. I didn't know what her strategy was, since Liepard's normal types moves were useless against the steel type.
"Steelix, use rock tomb."
"Liepard, protect!"
I patiently waited for their battle to end, and saw that while Liepard distracted Steelix, Misdreavus took that opportunity to attack from behind. Steelix was finally knocked out after a few shadow balls.
The masked man grumbled and tossed a bundle of cash to Skylar. "You lost, so give me back my Glaceon now!" she shouted.
The masked man growled at her and returned his Steelix, then began to laugh. And not in a good way.
"Look, kid, I'm not suppose to be doing this but I needed the money. Tell your friends to keep their noses out of my boss's business. Or else you'll be regretting with whom they're messing with!" the masked man cackled.
"What friends? I hardly have any!'' Skylar shot back. I think she was insulted.
''Here, take your dumb Pokémon back. It isn't that strong anyways.'' the masken man scoffed and kicked the cage towards her, making Lace wince.
Skylar ran towards the masked man and kicked his chest, sending him tumbling back to the ground. ''That's for insulting my Pokémon!'' she yelled at him. The masked man quickly stood up, rubbed his back then quickly ran away. ''You'll regret this, young lass!'' he shouted before disappearing to the other end of the bridge. ''Stupid idiot.'' I heard Skylar mutter. ''Misdreavus, teleport Lace outside of the cage. ''Mis! Dreee!'' Misdreavus nodded.
Lace appeared outside the cage. ''Glaceon!'' Skylar quickly hugged her Glaceon. Skylar returned Liepard and Misdreavus to their Poké balls, but not before thanking them for all their great work.
''Pika!'' Pika said, causing Skylar to jump back.
''Pika, you almost gave me a heart attack!'' she sighed in relief. ''Glaceon?'' Lace asked Pika. Then Skylar looked at me and stood up. ''Were you guys following me?'' she asked.
