Wendy's POV

"Alright, everyone's here." I smiled, as I looked at the small crowd standing in front of Maka, Carla, and I.

"Alright, everyone. Now, because your name was not on the list, you were assigned to be either a nurse, or a supplier for the war." I explained.

Maka nodded as she read her list of who was a nurse and who was a supplier.

"Now, if you're a nurse, follow me, and if you're a supplier, follow Maka." I told the small group. Once we were done explaining about the two jobs, we all traveled over to a small tent outside of Death City and in the forest. That's where the supplier and infirmary was located.

"You all know what to do, right?" I asked.

Everyone nodded and went straight to work. Maka and I sat at a table. I saw Maka had a sad expression on her face. It was probably because Soul was corrupted.

"Maka? Are you okay?" I asked.

Maka shook her head.

"No. I'm useless. Without Soul, I'm a useless meister." Maka whined. "But Maka-" "No! I'm useless!"

I stared at Maka. "Please Maka, calm down."

"I'm useless without Soul! Of all people, why did he have to be corrupted?!" I shouted.

"Maka, please!" I shouted, grabbing Maka's shoulders. "You're not useless! People need you right now, you can't be shouting that you're useless! Especially, when you aren't!"

Make stared at me, surprised by my sudden outburst. "W- Wendy." "Please. Just calm down." Maka slowly nodded then smiled. "What is it?" I asked.

"Your soul. It's a beautiful blue soul. One that can sooth and calm others, easily. It's a shame very few can see that." Maka smiled.

I blushed at Maka's words and smiled. My soul was a beautiful blue. And it can calm others. That's amazing. I wonder what everyone else's souls looked like.

Maka's POV

"Maka, please!" Wendy shouted, grabbing my shoulders. "You're not useless! People need you right now, you can't be shouting that you're useless! Especially, when you aren't!"

I stared at Wendy, "W-Wendy." I stammered."Please. Just calm down." I slowly nodded then smiled at Wendy. "What is it?" Wendy asked.

I looked at Wendy's soul. It was a calm blue that could just soothe your anger. It looked like Wendy's hair. Two pigtails. It almost looked as if it was smiling though."Your soul. It's a beautiful blue soul. One that can sooth and calm others, easily. It's a shame very few can see that." I smiled.

Wendy blushed at my words then smiled.

"Maka! Wendy! A report just came in!" Wendy's friend, Carla, called. "What is it?"

Carla held the note and started reading. "All groups have found their positions. The Nirvana is slowly coming closer to Death City. Prepare items for the night shifts as well. Infiltrating will be a last resort. From, Death the Kid."

"So Kid decided to stay behind and create the reports." I muttered.

"Carla, can't you predict the future?" Wendy asked.

"I shouldn't do that. If something tragic happens I don't want to see it twice." Carla explained.

Wendy and I nodded. Our job doesn't really start until there's fighting. Oh, well. Time to play the waiting game.
