Sasha came running in my room jumping up and down like a four year old. "Get dressed we are going for breakfast and then shopping" giving her the most unimpressed expression ever I got out. "What for? Nothing special happened" I grumbled.
She deadpanned for a second before answering. "The invitation silly. We need dresses and not just any dresses. We are getting dresses fit for a Queen" a knowing glint was in her eyes. I threw one of my pillows at her and she ducted out of the way before it could meet its target.
The fleeting emotion did peek my interest but that didn't mean I should be nice to her. I kept on mumbling to myself about my uncaring friend. She left the room and waited for me down stairs.
We were on our way to the market in a matter of minutes. The place we were going to did not exist on this planet. It was a completely different realm. You could almost say it was Earths twin with a twist. They were both on the same plane but they were just hidden from each other.
We drove till we reached the edge of town and stopped in front of an abandoned building. Before we made our way inside we made sure there wasn't anyone that would spot the car. All the gates to the supernatural world were in hidden forgotten places. That way people that came across them were next to nothing but we still made sure it was safe enough to go in.
The old door made a loud noise as we opened it and my heart beat speed up for a second. I was still new to this and my paranoia would sometimes get the best of me. Once the door was closed I listened to any movement outside and once I heard nothing did I allow myself to calm down. Two big guardians were standing on either side of the gate in their natural forms. They almost looked like eagles. They towered over us and I stared at them in amazement as they opened the door for us.
It was like stepping threw time. One moment you were in modern day America the next you were in a muddy street lined with little stalls. The vendors shouted out the deal of the day while the people were bumping in to each other trying to get to their next destination. Small traces of magic were around us indicating this was not a normal town.
People wore one of the few cloths they had. The different smells were welcoming as the air smelt a lot clearer than on earth. We walked to a little bakery in the opposite way we were going to go for the dresses, getting scones and muffins with coffee.
We slowly made our way to our destination and I drank in as much of the little town that I could. Once we got to the fancier side of the village it became more modern. Well as modern as it can be for a different realm.
Beautiful stone buildings with big windows lined the streets. Their best items displayed in the window. Fairy flower lined the top illuminating the path with different colors. The street was also stone but it looked like someone polished every single one to perfection. At the end of the street was the store we were going to.
I have never seen dresses like these but Sasha would always talk about them. Some of the dresses seemed alive on the hangers while others had the different elements influencing them.
Those were the real expensive stuff, they were beautiful and I wanted one but I would go for something a little less pricey. Maybe one day I could wear one. I made my way into the store and felt like a kid in their favorite toy store.
"Choose any one you like. I am paying." She was already in a dress checking herself in the mirror. She was always paying for everything. I had stopped complaining long ago knowing that I would lose every time. She had said something along the lines of 'You are my best friend. I always wanted someone to share everything with so deal!' I had raised my hands in response as truce. So I browsed through the many dresses. I came across a dress that I normally wouldn't wear. It kept my attention so I decided to try it.
