I woke up with the sun shining directly in my face. Who left the damn flap open! I could smell the fire that cooked breakfast. It made my stomach grumble when I inhaled the smell of the food in the air.
I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and crawled out from the tent. I didn't get far before I got pulled back in. I started hitting the person that had me in a vice grip. "Tyler let me go! I am hungry!" He pushed his face into my neck and inhaled. He blew out his breath and let me go.
I stood up outside the tent and glared at him pulling my clothes back in place. I walked over to the fire and accepted the cup of coffee that was offered to me. There was some business that had to be done in one of the packs and Sasha had the brilliant idea of camping.
She had then dragged me with. I had thrown such a bad tantrum that I broke my front door. I didn't want to leave, I couldn't but she found a way.
We had gotten to the pack and found a place to stay. All the brothers had to come for this so there were four tents. Which seemed wrong. Where was I going to sleep and Sasha had told me Tyler wouldn't mind sharing.
My jaw had hit the floor. I knew there was a reason for all of this and it had worked. We had managed to work out our differences and he even apologized for calling me a coward. Although he was still a bit peeved that I still refused to leave my home.
The man could hold a grudge. He would only speak to me when he had to. Other than that he would just be quiet and stay close to me. As for Red, he spoke as if there was no problem between us but I could see the look in his eyes. Le sigh! When one thing gets resolved two more things get added to the list. I wish it could just stop all together.
We finished our food and headed to the main house for the meeting. Sasha and I joined this one seeing as the previous day we got into trouble. We had terrorized some of the newly shifted wolves as they were picking on the younger kids. The both of us hated bullies so we gave them a taste of their own medicine. All the brother plus the pack alpha and beta came storming out to safe the crying wolves.
The alpha of the pack was one of the wolves who had chased me from his lands. He didn't seem to recognize me but Sasha did say he was a very horrible man and always had something up his sleeve.
Tyler and Red sat on either side of me so that Sasha and I couldn't mess up the meeting as well. "Thank you, Alpha King, for coming on such short notice." The man's voices sounded so creepy it sends goose bumps up my arms.
"It had seemed important to discuss this in person." He agreed and started the meeting.
"My men have gone missing and even some of my pack members as well. They are afraid and have threatened to take me out of power for not being able to protect them." His concern was more focused on the fact he might lose his title. He was power hungry and we could all see it the moment the words left his mouth.
Tyler had listened carefully to what he was saying. He ignored the part about his threatened position. "When did this start happening and where?"
The alpha wanted to complain about his position but had decided against it. Throughout the entire meeting, this man had thought he could have a go at the brothers.
Tyler had eventually grabbed my hand to keep himself calm. It wouldn't be good for him to kill the big-headed alpha.
Sasha had told me in his earlier years of being King he would kill anyone who had upset him, Innocent or not. And to think he has been King for 500 years. People had forgotten the reputation he had and became less fearful of the alpha. I am sure if he felt like it, he could go back to his old ways.
This went on for hours. Lunchtime came and went. How could anyone sit through something like this for hours? It is so boring! And it seems all this alpha wanted to do was complain non-stop!
