The closer I got to home the more I felt unsafe. Whatever we had felt earlier did not leave or it was following me.

It had just made a mistake earlier and was actually waiting for me to be alone. Instead of going to my home I walked around the woods trying to find this thing. But the moment I got close to it, it would disappear. It knew exactly where I was but what was it waiting for?

Was it keeping an eye on me or scouting me. It wasn't attacking me! I didn't want to know the answer but I had to find out. Everything in me was telling me to run but then I would remember Tyler calling me a coward and I would force myself to feel a little braver.

I jumped up to one of the trees thick branches and used the tree's canopy to move around. At first, it would still move off before I could get a glimpse, but it quickly realized I wasn't behind him and stopped moving.

I was right above it but I still couldn't see it. It was hiding in a particularly dark spot under a tree. It was trying to figure out where I was. Its patients seemed to be short-lived. It came out from its hiding spot and I almost fell out of the tree. Here, in this forest one of those things they had created stood in front of me.

I froze for a moment when it felt like I was thrown back in time. This used to be a human! I needed to get rid of it before it led back to me. I positioned myself above it. With broken ribs, I dropped down on to its back surprising it. It gave a horrible screech that almost made me deaf.

I loosened my grip from the sound and it reached behind him digging its claws into my back and ripping me off. I spun myself in the air to land on my feet. It was already after me again so I ran forward and pushed off the tree landing behind it.

It turned around angered at its failure to get me. He was one of the better experiments. He must have been in some kind of law enforcement. But they were still dumb once they have been turned.

We went back and forth, exchanging punishes and blocking them. This was going nowhere so I got my claws out and ripped them across his stomach drenching my hand in blood. He froze for a moment and I almost thought it was over. Then it let out that horrible screech again and came barreling toward me.

I swung my claws across his face causing more damage but I knew this wouldn't slow him down. These things didn't feel pain. His claws raked from my back over my shoulder and down my chest causing four long gashes to appear. The pain was almost crippling but I couldn't let that stop me.

But before I could react it kicked me off into a nearby tree. It was next to me the moment I hit the ground and it picked me up again and threw me into another one.

I braced myself on my foot and knee and gave a hard punch to its stomach making him airborne. I walked over to him ready to punch but he gave a kick to my ribs, shattering them and causing a splinter of bone to puncture my lung. I staggered for a moment feeling myself drown in my own blood. I got on to his back before it could get up and twisted its neck.

I tried to catch my breath but it was difficult with one lung drowning. I used my red weapons magic to set it alight. I wasn't far from my home and made it there as quickly as I could. I left a very long trail of blood as I made my way home. Getting to my phone that was on the breakfast bar got more difficult by the second. I knocked over things as I went making it look like someone had broken into my house. Of course it was unintentional.

I grabbed the phone from the table and dropped to the floor. I opened up my text and send an msg to the only person that would be able to help me.

After I sent the text I lay down on the floor and looked up. I heard a faint beep before I took my last breath.
