The next month went by painfully slow. Every day I would wake up with pain, new and old pain would bounce around my body. So every night I would take an ice cold bath. But no matter what I would join the morning training. In between I would still go to work and probably looked like a penguin.

I had caught up with the group quickly; I could knock out half of them with little effort. I was close to knowing what there is to know of the third year group that Red had said he wanted to move to the fourth year, the final training phase.

I had thought that he was moving me along a little too fast and also told him that I had my own personal goal and wanted to beat the entire third-year group before I could move on. At first, he seemed upset but allowed me to stay. We continued as normal. I was growing stronger and faster every day.

My fighting technique was lost on them. I was always graceful and unpredictable making it look like I had years to perfect it when in truth I was just better at practical. My confidence had gotten a slight boost but I still seemed to find myself in the shadows. Always observing, always listening.

Tyler seemed to have peeked my interest even more. I had spotted him on more than one occasion in the woods seeming to do what he does best, whatever that was. I could never seem to keep a track on him. It's as if he knew I was there and would lose me.

But I did notice a few small things about him. Other than his god-like physique he seemed to do the littlest of things with such precision I never knew a man of his caliber could have. Like a true predator and he knew it.

He would taunt any trespasser on his territory before he would strike the final blow. From the look on his face, the fear and the killing is what brought him the most happiness. Seeing what he could do made me fear him and I had a feeling this wasn't even the worst side of him.

I was not allowed to do things without Reds permission but I wanted to try and taunt my own enemies. Everyone was a big help in teaching me how to defend myself but there was always this little voice in the back of my head telling me time was running out.

That voice had struck such fear in me that it forced me to do and learn anything as fast as I could to be ready. It might be an irrational fear but from what I had experienced, I wasn't going to take any chances.

Starting with the furry critters in the woods was such a bad idea. They have honed in much better on their senses than I have but I had to start somewhere. Rabbits always knew before I did thanks to the birds. I thought deer would be an easier target! That resulted in me being trampled. So I went with the worst option I could, predators.

Even though it was dumb it had worked better than the others. They didn't seem to have a care in the world and felt like they were on top which made it somewhat easy. Being bitten by a protective mountain lion was no fun but I got the results I wanted to see.

I tried it out on a few more lions and bears. It had resulted in having to get a few stitches and trust me coming up with a bullet proof story to tell Sasha was hard when she looked at me with those unbelieving eyes. I had eventually settled on telling her that I was having a territorial dispute with a bear.

After some time it got easier to taunt the animals. Their hearts would nearly stop beating and once I was done with my victim for the day I had explained to them what I was doing. They soon understood and didn't have a heart attack every time I played with them. I decided to eventually move on to a smarter target. If I got caught by anyone King Tyler would have my hide. But even thinking of it I was perched on a branch above a royal red guard after my successful attempts with some of the pack's people didn't sway me from my task at hand.
