Chapter Forty-eight

Grace's pov.

It's really nice here. Even though for the last three months have seen to fly by, I really think I made the right choice in staying here. I have made some friends and one of them is a witch. She seems okay and always wanting to help.

I still don't think I have met everyone since this pack is so big. It's so big that Ruby has two betas and stuff. Ruby has been kind but seems stressed lately. I hope she is okay. I try to find something to do since I want to help but everyone has already got something.

I decide that I'm going to walk the border. When I'm walking the border I smell some weird scents but don't see anything. Next thing I know a two rogues step in front of me. "Look who's all by herself." I'm not sure what to do so I say something that I hope will get them to leave.

"Who says I'm alone?" "The cents in the air tell us no one but you and us are here." "What do you want?" I'm really afraid of the answer and turns out I should have just ran. "We want your blood."

Before one of them could jump on me another rogue came out and attacked them. Two others can out and stood in front of me. The first two rogues said, "Why are you protecting a pack member?" "Why are you trying to start something with a pack member?"

"Why do you care?" With that the first two jumped towards the ones in front of me but was soon be chased away. "Are you okay?" "Yeah thank you for helping me." "No problem." Then I hear a growl and see Ruby looking at the four of us. "Ruby these rogues saved my life."

The growling stopped. "Why were you out here by yourself in the first place! You could have been seriously injured or killed if they hadn't saved you." "I'm sorry, I was just trying to help."

"I know now please go back to the pack house and stay with Haven or Lilac for a bit." "Okay." I turn and start walking to the pack house. I need to tell my friends what just happened.

Ruby's pov.

My dream was so vivid. Wolves fighting and bodies everywhere. Blood spilled all over the grass. There were growls and whines everywhere. I was standing in the middle of it all. Then the dream morphed and I was the only one left and all of my pack was dead.

I looked around helplessly as not a soul in sight. Only the smell of death was there to greet me. I woke up and took a short shower. Its only 2:00 in the morning. Elijah is still sound asleep in bed. I go to Lilac's room and softly knock on the door. I hear the lock click and the door slightly open.

"Oh Ruby, come on in." I walk in and sit in the edge of her bed. "Another nightmare?" "Yeah, this time it was about everyone dying and I was the only one left. I had to watch as people got slaughtered and drop to the ground." "I'm not exactly sure why you're getting these nightmares.

When I retrieved your memories having nightmares about your past where going to happen, but you're having nightmares about what could happen." "All I know is they're causing me stress and I'm not getting much rest. I'm afraid that I'll just pass out one day from tiredness."

"There is something I could make that might help your mind relax but it might not get rid of the nightmares." "If it might help them I'll try it." "I'll have it ready by breakfast." "Thank you." "No problem."
