We walked into the elevator silently.  I dropped my shoes onto the ground, and slipped my feet into them.  I could feel Hayes' eyes on me, and all I could do was smile.  The elevator stopped, and we walked out into the lobby.

"Excuse me, where is the beach from here?" Hayes asked the clerk at the front desk.

"When you walk out, you turn left and walk down the street.  When you get to the end, take another left, and then a right at the traffic light.  You will see the boardwalk and then you'll be at the beach." The man said.

I think I got that down.

"Okay, thank you sir." Hayes replied.

Sir?  Wow, Hayes was a gentleman.  The two of us walked out of the big glass doors, and took a left, just like the man had said.

When we had started our walk to the beach, Hayes said, "Why did you kiss me today?"

"Why did you hold my hand today?" I asked, giving him the eyebrow.

He turned to face me, and he looked kind of innocent.

"No, really.  Why did you kiss me?  I know that was your first kiss, Rosie told me.  Why me?" Hayes asked.

Really Rosie?  Gosh, that girl could never shut up.

"Because I like you Hayes.  I knew you were the right person and it was the right time."  I said, kind of shyly.

Hayes looked at me and said, "I like you too."

He leaned in for another kiss, and not knowing what else to do, I leaned in.  In the process, I tripped over one of my feet, and I fell forward, knocking both of us to the ground.

"Oh my God, I am so sorry Hayes." I said.

I am so embarrassed right now.  Seriously?  Right now?  Hayes just laughed and got up.

"Wow, way to ruin the moment Eliza." He said, still laughing.

I blushed and said, "Hey, sorry.  It was an accident."

He nodded and replied, "I know, I'm just teasing you."

I held his hand, and we continued walking and talking until we got to the beach.  When the boardwalk ended, and our feet met the grainy sand, we ran down and sat on the shore.  The waves brushed our feet every time they crashed onto the ground.

"Sit on your back, and look up at the sky.  The stars are beautiful"  Hayes said.

I put my head on the ground, and looked up.  I dont care if sand gets in my hair, it was worth it if I was with Hayes.

"Well, not as beautiful as you." He added to his statement before.

I knew he couldnt see me, but I blushed.  Hayes and I spent about two more hours at the beach, and then we got up to go leave.  All of a sudden, my phone beeped.

The screen read: Text Message From: Matt E.

Why would Matt text me right now?

I opened the message: Eliza, I really like Rosie.  During the movie, she fell asleep in my arms, and as I was watching her (sorry if that sounds creepy) I knew this girl was the girl I have been searching for.  How should I ask her out?  Help, quick!

Oh my God!  Rosie was going to get asked out by Matthew!  I showed Hayes, and we immediately came up with a plan.  Since Rosie was a swimmer, he would take her to indoor pool to swim some laps.  While she would be coming back to the wall to do her flip turn, he would hold a dry erase board in the water asking: Will you go out with me?  Rosie and I saw this on Youtube one time, and she said she wanted someone to ask her out that way one day. I texted the plan to Matt.

Seconds later, he replied: OMG!  Thats perfect!  Thank you!  Ill do it tomorrow, and I want everyone there!  Make sure you keep it a secret.

Hayes and I walked back to the hotel slowly, talking and holding hands.  I wonder if Hayes was going to ask me out sometime.  I hope so.
