Chapter Twenty

After we all yelled surprise and Nash turned on the black light, Aaron closed the door and music strted to play.  It was really loud.

"I'm going to go find Matt!"  Rosie yelled.

I nodded back, hopefully she saw me.  I waited until all the boys were done patting Hayes on the back and saying Happy Birthday before I went over there.  When they were gone, I walked over to him.  

"Just the person I wanted to see."  Hayes said, smiling.

I giggled and hugged him while saying, "Happy Birthday Hayes.  You are officially older than me."

"Does that mean we cant have a thing anymore?" Hayes whined.

I shook my head while answering, "No."

All of a sudden, he stood back.  What was he doing?  Never mind, I saw his eyes.  He was checking me out!

"Hayes!  Stop checking me out!"  I yelled.

He shook his head no, and kept scanning me.  

"Hayes!" I winced.

"Fine!  Fine!  It is my birthday though, and maybe I should be able to check out the girl I like."  Hayes said.

Did he just say that?  Aw!  He stepped closer to me and grabbed my waist.

"Want to dance?" He asked.

"Yes!" I replied, trying to sound cool.

Honestly, I was freaking out on the inside.  We danced and kept talking for the next hour.  All of a sudden, the song "Grind on Me" came on.  I know everyone person in this room knows that song.  Almost all of them had done vines with that song.  I snapped out of my trance to Hayes staring into my eyes.  Uh oh.  I think he was trying to send the message that he wanted to...grind.  

"Hayes, I not sure.  I dont even know how to grind!" I said.

He laughed and replied, "Just watch Rosie and you'll know how to do it." 

I quickly turned and saw Rosie grinding on Matthew.  Oh my God!  I didnt know she could do that!  Im actually a little grossed out.  Hayes turned my body around and I was now facing out.  I could see Nash nudge Cameron, and then point at me.  Great, this was going on some social media network.  Hayes started to rotate his hips.  Arent we too young to do this?  Whatever, I guess he can get what he wants on his birthday.  I started to rotate my body the same direction as his.  I was kind of awkward at first, but then I got into it.  

When the song was over, Hayes turned me around again and said, "Oh my God!  You are good at that!"

"Thanks." I said.

What else was I supposed to say?

We continued dancing for another hour until the music stopped.  Nash was holding a microphone in his hand.

"Okay!  Hello!  As all of you know, it is my little brother Hayes' birthday!  I would like everyone to sing Happy Birthday, and then the party is over!  Thanks for coming everyone!" Nash said, panting out of breath.

We all sang Happy Birthday, and Hayes was holding my hand the whole time.  When the party was over, we walked back out of the room and Hayes followed me all the way to Jack's room.

The clock said 5:55pm, and I was hungry!  

I walked over to Jack and said, "I am hungry."

He laughed and replied, "Me too.  Want to go with a few of us to get something to eat?" 

I nodded while saying, "Yes!"

I walked over to Rosie and told her.  She became really excited, so I am assuming she was really hungry too.  But gosh, that girl could eat!

Nash, Hayes, Rosie, Matthew, Jack, JJ, Cameron and I got into the limo and  headed off to a Mexican restaurant.  This made me think of Nash's "DO NOT...fricken eat Mexican food" vine.  The car ride was fairly silent, except for Cameron of course.  Even though it was silent, my mind was still racing with questions.  Does Hayes really like me?  Why did he grind on me?  Does that mean something?  Why wont he ask me out?  When will he ask me out?  Will he ever ask me out?
