Hayes stared at me with eyes longing for a reply.
"Thanks Hayes." I said slowly, but smiling reassuringly.
Across from us, Nash and Jack were nudging each other and whispering. I couldnt hear them, and I didnt want to. All I could do was stare at Hayes. I felt his hand slip into mine and hold it, and I blushed. The rest of the car trip was him holding my hand, and the boys across from us whispering and saying things about us. We didnt care.
When we got out of the car, Rosie came up to me and whispered, "Hey, what was that?"
"What was what?" I asked, but still knowing what she was talking about.
"You and Hayes! Eliza, I saw you holding hands! What was that?" Rosie demanded.
I told her everything that happened from the moment I had taken Nash's vine.
"Wow! You need to go and be with him!" Rosie said excitedly.
"Alright! Bye!" I said to Rosie, and I ran after the boys who were waiting for Rosie and I at the entrance of the Carnival.
When I got up there, Jack put his arm around me. I looked up at him, and he was smiling.
"Hey Bud, nice job. Nash said it wont be long until Hayes asks you out. But I told Nash you and I would have to talk about it first." Jack whispered.
"Why do we need to talk about it?" I asked, confused.
Jack was like the father I never had. My father left Jack and I one month after I was born. We dont know where he is, and he hasnt communicated with us once. Ever since I was born, Jack has always been there to protect and guide me through life. He really is the best big brother out there.
"Because I dont want you to get hurt. He lives about 3 hours away from our house too. That's not exactly close Bud. I dont know, I'll talk to you about it later." Jack said.
I nodded while saying, "Okay."
He ruffled my hair and let go of me. We all paid for our tickets, and went inside the Carnival. There were a few good looking rides, but most of them were small game booths.
"Eliza! Come with us!" I heard Nash yell.
I ran over to Nash, who was with Cameron, Brent, Aaron and Hayes.
"Hey, is this the scary one?" I asked excitedly.
"Yeah! Why, are you afraid of scary roller coasters?" Cameron asked.
I shook my head and said, "Heck no, I love roller coasters."
"Well, she is Jack's brother Cam." Nash said.
The six of us walked up and waited in line. It only took about five minutes until we were ready to board the roller coaster. Why would they have a roller coaster in a carnival? Oh well, I guess Los Angeles made everything awesome.
"Hayes, do you want to sit with me?" I asked, not knowing who else to ask to sit with.
"Sure!" Hayes replied, almost immediately.
Aaron shouted, "Make sure you hold his hand if he gets scared, he hates roller coasters Eliza!"
I looked at Hayes and said, "You dont like roller coasters?"
He blushed and responded, "Not exactly, but I wanted to ride it because you and Nash would be."
I smiled and then the roller coaster started to move. It was slowly cranking its way to the top. When we were about 5 yards away from going over, Hayes grabbed my hand. We started going down, and he was screaming like a little girl. It was hilarious! I was laughing so hard, I didnt even enjoy the roller coaster. I could hear Nash and Cameron screaming, but from enjoyment. Hayes was just scared.
When we got off, Brent said, "Wow, Hayes, you really do hate roller coasters!"
Hayes gave him the death look, but then laughed and said, "Yes, I really do."
We went to see our pictures, and they were hysterical. Brent and Aaron were laughing. Cameron and Nash were screaming, but smiling, so you knew they were having a good time. Hayes had a face of terror and looked like he was about to die. I was laughing so hard, it looked like I was about to fall out of the roller coaster car.
Hayes was blushing when I looked at him, and Nash went up and bought all of the picture. Afterwards, we went on a few other rides, and then met everyone at the restaurant for dinner.
"How was it bud?" Jack asked when I sat next to him.
"It was awesome!" I replied, still thinking about Hayes' face on the first roller coaster. We all sat at one table, and it was crowded.
"Rosie loves roller coasters so much, it's not even funny. She would always put her hands in the air and scream." Taylor said while Matthew laughed at Rosie.
Yes, Rosie has always loved roller coasters. Even more than I do. She would ride any roller coaster she came across, whether it was huge or tiny.
"Are you all ready to order?" the waitress asked.
"Yes!" JJ said, sounding really eager for food.
We all ordered, and our food came about 50 minutes later.
It was a long wait, and by the time we all got our food, the boys were saying things like, "OMG! WHERE IS MY FOOD?" and "I AM GOING TO EAT YOU BECAUSE I AM SO HUNGRY!" Rosie and I just looked at each other and laughed when they said things like this.
When everyone was done eating, which was about 5 minutes, we all went outside to the carnival and watched the fireworks display.
Hayes layed don next to me, and we talked for about an hour.
"So, do you have a boyfriend?" Hayes asked, obviously interested.
"No, I dont. Why?" I replied.
There was a long pause before he said, "I dont know, just wondering."
We continued to talk the rest of the time, laughing a lot. When the fireworks were done, we loaded back up into the limo, and drove back to the hotel. Rosie and I went into our rooms. The clock on the dresser said 12:37am. Wow, it was late. Rosie and I turned on the television, and tried to fall asleep, but the boys next door were being too loud. I groaned and walked over to the door.
"Jack? Jack?" I said.
Jack opened the door and said worriedly, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, but Rosie and I cant fall asleep because its really loud over here." I said politely.
"Sorry Bud, I'll tell them to shut up. Good night." He said, hugging me and riffling my hair.
"Thanks." I said, and shut the door.
I climbed back into bed and about 5 minutes later, all the noise stopped. I wonder what they are doing, but I am so tired I cant even think strait anymore.
