Like his name suggests, he is a very easily jealous individual. If he sees someone or something he likes, he will do anything to get it. This leads his to get defensive easily for his actions, but also acts delusional. The others aren't even sure he is aware that his actions are considered bad or evil. It doesn't matter either way. Some may consider his actions a form of yandereism, but really, who knows what that boy thinks.

Background:
Envy was born under the name of Sky. This was due to his blue fur. He grew up with just his father, whom was an inventor. Sky grew up learning how to make machines since he always spent time at his father's shop.
However, the city he lived in was mostly rich folk. His father was anything but rich. In fact, they were really poor. The only reason that they stilled lived in the city was because his mother still lived in the city.
The mother and dad were divorced, but the mother sent money for schooling and only schooling. She didn't care beyond that.
Sky had only one friend named Nunu, who seemed to not care about his status. This didn't stop Sky from being jealous about his class mates though. He wanted to be just like them, but couldn't. He would always ask his father for fancy cloths, but he was always denied.
When he graduated High School, his mother stopped sending money, so he had no choice but to work for his father.
After a year, he asked Nunu out, because he liked her so much. She laughed in his face and said that she just felt sorry for him. That was the only reason why she was his friend.
Sky went on a tangent on her, releasing all the feelings that he bottled up. Without realizing, the got in a scuffle that resulted in Sky striking her down in the head. He didn't seem to care though. "She deserved it," he thought.
He went home and found his father dead in the house. One of his inventions failed while he was out, which costed him his life.
Sky didn't grieve though. He was relieved. He called it in to the police and left before they arrived.
He disappeared into the woods where he was found by a red Echidna. The Echidna was fascinated with him and told him to share his story. He did and she smiled. She asked him to join her group under a new name.
When he asked what his new name is to be, she just said, "Envy."
