Shunsuke is a calm person with a calm voice. If he ever raises his voice at you, you know that you made a mistake. He can be called peaceful almost. He dislikes violence as much as the next guy. He understands sadness but tries to be there for those that need it. It is also to get rid of the notion that he believes in gods. In a sense he does, but it is more likely to say that he has faith. He spreads faith, not religion. That is why he likes the title"Religious Influence" a bit better then the title "Priest".

Biography:
Shunsuke was born to doctors from a small town in the Japanese mountains. When he was young, both his parents died from an apparent murder suicide where a patient of theirs killed them and then himself. It was deduced that he was off his meds when this happened. He was moved to the big city where his grandparents lived.
It would surprise you then that Shunsuke was surprisingly calm and felt at peace with his parents passing. It also started to come to life that he started researching and practicing different religions.
When asked by his grandparents about this, Shunsuke just said, "I have faith that they are in a better place and that the murder is not."
His name finally got out there at the age of 13 when a women who lost her baby was comforted by Shunsuke when he was visiting the hospital since his grandmother broke a bone. This women also happened to be the wife of the Prime Minister of Japan at the time. Shunsuke gave her faith that the ones above exist and that you will have a beautiful child by next year. You just need to have faith. With this and Shunsuke's calm demeanor, the women felt at peace with this loss.
The prime minister thanked Shunsuke and gave him notoriety when this was announced to the public.
The notoriety caught the attention of Hope's Peak Academy years later where Shunsuke started preaching in religious areas as well as in hospitals and retirement homes.
Shunsuke was part of the 76th class, the same class that Seiko, Ruruka, and Sonosuke were in. They were no means friends though, but Shunsuke would accept Ruruka's treats from time to time. However, he didn't miss them when they were expelled for the mishap during their second year test. In the same year was a boy named Daiki Akuma, the oldest of the Akuma siblings, who was the Ultimate Archeologist. He was in another class though, but would sometimes skip class and just hang out.
He was in his last year with his class when the tragedy struck. He was not on campus when it happened, with his friend Daiki, so he was able to escape death. He semi-joined future foundation not long afterwards because of his talent and so would preach about faith and hope to those that needed it. The people it reached listened. It was only semi-joined however as didn't trust them 100%. Something about some of the members made him feel off. And seeing his old classmates made him feel more off put. He really only joined because Daiki joined to find his sisters, Sachiko and Mio.
