Arriving at the party, he and Jungkook were approximately 12 minutes late. Even though that was true, the sound of thumping bass was heard even from the car and he could clearly see people dancing from where they sat. Jungkook was already at the door by the time Hoseok got out of the car, and at that moment he knew this was one of the worst ideas he'd ever had.
He was already pretty antisocial, and he technically wasn't even invited to this party in the first place.
He was filled with regret the first time some random girl asked him to dance. The petite woman could be no older than 20, and she was clearly intoxicated - Hoseok simply brushed her off and continued walking through the crowded home. Jungkook ran off the minute they stepped inside, and he'd be lying if he said he wasn't worried. There were too many people for comfort, along with the dozens of mischievous hands searching for something to hold.
He felt dizzy walking through the obnoxious crowd, and the smell of alcohol was everywhere. He decided to go out back, the cool air hitting him by surprise. A few large droplets of water landed on him as a random person jumped into the pool, and he almost shrieked. Almost.
Continuing to walk around, he eventually sat down on a small bench on the far side of the lawn. He kept his eyes open in case Jungkook happened to step out, but decided to just rest. He had only been there for about 15 minutes and yet he already felt exhausted.
He watched as some teens chased each other around the terrain, and he wondered how long he'd go without seeing his beloved (read: troublesome) boyfriend. His head hurt.
He slowly stood up again and his shoes dug into the soft grass. A breeze blew past, spraying a light mist from the pool. He was calm, though he didn't really know why. He stretched and smoothed his hair out of his face, determined to find the man he came with.
He chose to stay outside for awhile longer so he didn't have to listen to the terrible music inside, but his plan was foiled since the back door was open anyways. This kind of thing reminded him of frat parties from college; it very well might've been, anyways. He brushed past some drunken dudes and pushed his way back inside, eyes darting around as he searched for Jungkook. Instead, he found Namjoon, which wasn't all that better but worked anyways.
"Have you seen the idiot I call my boyfriend?" He shouts to the familiar man.
Namjoon takes a couple seconds to reply, the alcohol flowing through him likely delaying his thoughts.
"I saw him with Seokjin.." he takes a moment to think, "But I don't remember where they went after getting drinks. Probably to dance. Sorry, man," Namjoon slurs.
Hoseok simply nods and walks away, rejecting Namjoon's prompt for a high-five.
He hated parties.
