Chapter 30:

I woke up limb and saw I was in the cell. I no longer felt like I had the evil in me. My eyes opened lightly, and I turned my head. I saw Kai's face in the bars, staring at me.

"Are you okay?" He asked me, softly.

"Yeah" I coughed. 

"Do you want me to come in and sit with you?" Kai asked.

"No" I coughed even louder. "I don't want to hurt you"

"You won't hurt me..." Kai laughed a bit. "I'm stronger than you"

"Fine" He opened the metal door without any issue. He left it cracked open, because he obviously didn't want to get trapped.

<><> Kai's POV <><>

I sat down next to her, and she snuggled up next to me. She laid her head on my shoulder, and I laid my head on her's. 

"I'm so sorry you have to be going through this" I said to her, softly. I wrapped my left arm around her frail waist. I looked at her now frail body, and felt my heart sink.

Feelings are hard...

I thought.

"Aurora...?" I said softly. There was no response. I saw that her eyes were closed, and her breathing was choppy. I held her in my arms, knowing she was sleeping. I lightly kissed the top of her head, and heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Quickly but carefully, I scooped her off of me, and laid her down on the cold stone floor. I unzipped my jacket, and laid it on her, trying to keep her a bit warm. I ran out and closed the door at my vampire speed.

<><> Maya's POV <><>

I continued walking down the stairs with Stefan to check on Aurora. A whoosh came beside me.

"What was that?" I looked at Stefan.

"What was what?" He looked back at me.

"Never mind" We continued looking. I looked in her cell and saw a jacket on her, and noticed it looked exactly like Kai's.

 Why did he visit her when she is still possibly dangerous? Doesn't he know he could be weaker than her? There is only one reason why....
