Chapter 3:

I hopped out of the shower and dried my hair. Putting on my pajamas, I threw on my coat; not caring if someone from school saw me in my pjs. I texted Savannah:

From: Aqua

To: Savannah

HEY GURRRRRL. I was wondering if you wanted to meet up at the park to chat about the idiots.

I ran out the door as fast as I could so I didn't have to face Axel and my Mother. Faintly, I could hear them fighting from the door. I shook my head, wondering what my mother saw in Axel. My phone started buzzing once I started jogging to the park. Running to the side of the road so I don't get hit by a car,  I checked my phone.

From: Savannah

To: Aqua

Sure. Meet you there in 15? You know my house is farther away from the park than your's.

I texted her back:

From: Aqua 

To: Savannah

Sure! I'll meet you there :D

I put my phone back into the pocket of my jacket and continued my jog to the park. Once I reached the park, I sat down on the bench, waiting for my brunette, green eyed best friend. Sighing, I stared at the frozen pond.

The frozen pond really is beautiful in the purple, orange, and yellow hued light.

It almost felt like forever waiting for her.

Where could she be? It has been more than 15 minutes.

I waited a little longer for her and suddenly got a call from my mom.

Aqua: Whats up mom?

Mom: Savannah is in the hospital...

Aqua: WHAT?!?!?!!? ( I stood up and started running back home as fast as I could, still on the phone with my mom.)

Mom: Do you think you could meet us back at the house in 10?!

Aqua: Mom. This is Savannah. My best friend since 3rd grade. I'm already 1 block away from the house. I will be there in less than 5 minutes.

Mom: Ok.... Be safe, it is getting dark out. I will get you another co-

Aqua: OK I GET IT MOM, IM ALMOST HOME! SEE YOU IN 2 MINUTES!! BYE! 

I said hanging up and putting my phone in my coat pocket. I raced home as fast as I possibly could.

Why Savannah... Why.... 

Finally, I reached home and ran upstairs, grabbing a heavier coat and throwing that one on.

"MOM PLEASE START THE CAR" 

I said running down the stairs. 

Ok Aqua. Don't slip.. Don't slip.. Don't be your clumsy self...

Of course, I had to trip over the mouse toy boots had left there.

"Boots!" I groaned from the floor. Getting up, I dusted off my black pants, rushing outside and into the car. Taking out my notebook, I looked at the book I was writing.

"I'm never going to write a good book...." I whispered to myself. I looked out the window and saw the hospital.

"Mom, stop the car." As she stopped the car, I jumped out, not even closing the door. Holding back tears, I ran up to the lady at the front desk, as I saw my mom and step-dad running up to me.

"Savannah Cassese?" 

I watched her as she looked through her folders. "Room 207"

"Thank you." I raced over to the stairs, as I heard my mom calling behind me, "Aqua Rose DeSousa!" 

"YEAH MOM" I continued running up the stairs. My eyes darted from each side of the hallway numbers until I found the number, 207. I silently ran into the room. When I saw Savannah laying down in that hospital bed, I couldn't hold the tears back anymore. I saw Savannah's mom, dad, and little brother, Joey. My eyes, red, and filled with tears, I asked Savannah's mom. "What happened to her?..."

"She was on her way to the park to meet you. It was getting dark, and you know how crazy high schoolers get on Fridays. She got hit....." Her eyes filled up with tears. She picked up Joey and cradled him, trying to keep him from crying.

"Oh... I'm sorry I asked her to co-"

"Honey, it isn't your fault...."

I didn't want to start a fight when Savannah could possibly hear me. I sat down next to Savannah. My parents walked in silently, and hugged Savannah's parents. My vision started blurring because of how many tears where falling from my eyes.

"P-please don't m-make me lo-oose you Savannah....." The doctor walked in, and I was almost afraid to hear what he was going to say.

The doctor started talking...

"I don't th-"
