Chapter 53

🌸Aurora's POV🌸

I stared at the positive pregnancy test, shocked. I heard a knock on the door, and quickly shoved the test into my back pocket of my jeans, hoping he wouldn't notice.

"Come in" I looked at the door, and smiled as Kai walked in. 

"Are you ready?" He asked. I studied his 'CLOTHES ( < for @EmmaMcGowan8 ) for a minute.

"Yeah, and are you going to go out in" I paused; "That?" 

"Yes. I'm a vampire-witch hybrid.. I don't really need to be warm. You on the other hand.." He studied me; "Okay, you seem fine" He chuckled.

"Thanks, I totally needed your approval.. I have to go to the bathroom.. Be out in a minute?" I asked, weakly smiling.

"Okay" He smiled, and closed the door. I looked around franticly, and wrapped it in a tissue, and threw it in the garbage. I flushed the toilet, hoping he would think I was actually going to the bathroom. I walked out and threw on my coat. We walked down the stairs and though the kitchen to the back door. I looked at Kai as he wrapped an arm around me. I wrapped my arm around him too, but felt something in his pocket. He shifted my arm away from it, and I thought about what it could have been. We opened the door, walked out into the snowy landscape, and I closed it behind us, locking it and putting the keys into my pocket. 

"It's so nice that we were able to get our own home" I commented, as we walked down the hill behind our house, and looked at the ocean. It's waves crashed against the snowy shore, making some sand visible. "And in one of my favorite places" I said, still breath-taken by the view.

"Yeah, and it is easy when you can compel the house people"

"Can't you just take a compliment?" I chuckled.

"Sometimes" he paused and looked at me; "Other times I still have to show off" He chuckled.

"No dip" I chuckled, thinking about how Syd always used to say that when I said something obvious when we were on Skype together. Kai shifted his arm around my waist, making me turn to face him. I glanced at the shore from the hill that we were on top of, and the snow swirling in the air.

"Aurora, you have been there when I have needed you. You have loved me for who I am, and accepted my flaws. You have stuck by me for a long time, and felt with me" Kai paused and chuckled; "Which is very impressive. You have stayed by my side, and fought for me. When you saw Kol was about to kill me, you stepped in; against Marcel's rules of the battle; and saved my life. I'm truly grateful. Nothing I can do will ever repay you"

"Unless you save my life" I said, cutting in.

"Which- I- have- many- times" He said, through coughs, probably trying to not make me hear.

"Cocky- once- again" I said through coughs, like he did. He slightly rolled his eyes, and got down on one knee. He slipped a scarlet colored heart box out of his left pocket.

"Oh my god" I said, breathing heavily. He opened the box, exposing a beautiful diamond ring.

"Aurora Jade Bennett" He paused, smiling at me; "Will you marry me?" The snow swirled around us, as I heard the waves crash against the shore louder.

"Yes!" I said, not hesitating. Kai smiled at me, and took my left hand, slipping the ring easily onto my ring finger. I lifted my hand, admiring the ring. Kai smiled wider than ever, and picked me up. I smiled, and Lowered my head to land a kiss on his lips. I felt him smile against the kiss, as the peck changed to a passionate kiss. The wind blew around us hard, making the snow swirl up around us. I smiled as he lowered me back to the ground. We walked back home, as Kai kept his hand on my waist, rubbing it lightly.
