Shisa 6: Maybe This Wasn't So Bad.

                Mickayla stood in front of the mirror. She looked herself up and down in her dress. She was nervous. Everything had to be perfect.  She slipped her shoes on and walked out to her mother’s car. “Are you excited? Your first formal dance!” Lisa says. “I guess, it’s probably nothing.” Mickayla says slumping in her seat. Lisa pulls up towards the school and stops the car. “Perk up and have some fun ok?” She says. “Ok,” Kayla says smiling fakely at her mother. “Oh and don’t think you can’t get in trouble, Ian and Melanie can tell me everything.” She says. “Ok mom,” Kayla says stepping out the car.

                The group of children sat away from the rest of the group and chatted. All the sudden a slow song comes on and Jordan is looking at her, his deep brown eyes melting her heart again. “Um do you want to dance?” “Sure,” she says smiling. On the inside she was freaking out. He led her to the floor and she wrapped her arms around his neck. She could feel his tense muscles in his neck and hands that were resting on her hips. She glanced over at the corner of her eye and saw Kim and Aedin dancing as well. Her inner self was just giddy. “Um, I’ve been keeping something from you.” He says. She nods. “Funny, I’ve been kind of keeping something from you as well.” She says. “I um, I like you, a lot.” Jordan says. “I like you too, I actually have for a while.” She says blushing. “Would you maybe want to go out with me?” he asks. “Sure,” Kayla says. “Ok,” He smiles and she’s surprised that she doesn’t melt into a puddle right there on the dance floor.

                After the dance he hugged her and she got into Lisa’s car. “Looks like someone has a boyfriend, a Sohinki.” She says smiling. “No, he’s just a friend.” Kayla says blushing. “Liar, it’s ok, I think it’s cute.” She says pinching Kayla’s cheek. “But what about dad?” she asks nervously. “Don’t worry,” Lisa says. “I’ll take care of it.”
