Shisa 1: I'm Sorry If I Mess Up.

                Shane and Lisa sat in the hospital room and everyone around was buzzing with excitement.  Shane held their daughter for the first time. He was smiling, but so scared. She was the size of a football. He didn’t want to hurt her. Lisa sat in bed drifting in and out of a sleep induced trance. Shane’s mom finally came over and took the baby out of his hands. “Come see Grandma.” She says in a baby voice. Shane went over to the side of the bed next to Lisa. “I love you.” He kissed her on the cheek. “I love you too.” She says half awake. “Get some rest ok?” he says.  She nods and turned on her side to try and get a little rest. Shane sat down on the futon they had brought in for him. He could not believe he was a father. He was a father and his wife and daughter were both so beautiful.

                He sat by watching Lisa sleep peacefully next to the plastic crib that his daughter sat in. He can’t believe how perfect his life is. The baby whimpered and he picked her up. “Come see daddy for a minute.” He says holding her carefully. He rocked her a bit. “You know, you’re pretty lucky,” he says. “You have an absolutely stunning mother, and, if I don’t say so myself, a hilarious father.” He says. “Ok maybe not that funny.” He says. “You’re gonna love the dog, Unicorn, too.” She opens her eyes and looks at him. “We call her Corny though,” He smiles at her; her eyes are blue just like his. She already looks a lot like Lisa. “Just one thing, I’m sorry in advance for screwing you up, because I know at some point I’m gonna.” He says joking.
