Your pov

"(Y/n), I would be honored to be your accompanist." I didn't expect that to be so easy.

"Thank you Kousei!" While I was hugging him, I didn't know how hard I was actually squeezing until he brought it to my attention. "(Y/n)..

..can't....breathe."

I gasp and release him. "Jeez, for a kid you have godly strength." He says, exasperated. "My deepest apologies, I didn't intentionally attempt to harm you." Oops, it happened again. Damn you parents, making me sound like some poet. "Uh, yeah.. No big deal?" Ugh, now he probably thinks I'm weird, if he doesn't already. Good going (y/n), way to make a good impression. "So, what do you say Arima, tomorrow after school I'm free, why don't we get working then?" I say with a smile. He returns the smile and responds. "Tomorrow sounds great, why don't we walk over to my place together after school, unless you happen to have a spare piano lying around your house that is." Oh god, if Katsu hears about me going over to a guys house, he'll go all protective father on me. Oh well, I guess I won't tell him then. "You make a fair point, your place it is then, I'll bring over my song choice too." He offers me another smile, does this kid really smile that much, he just lost one of his best friends and he's acting as bright as the sunset. "Well then, I'll see you tomorrow then." He walks past me, and I let the grin I was holding back rise onto my face. "I never thought I'd say this, but thanks Nori, for making me lose the bet.

-le time skip to school-

"(Y/NNNNNN)~" Oh shit, Watari alert, time to act happy again, and not like I'm going to rip my hair out "Oh, hey Watari, Tsubaki, Kousei, how are you all doing?" I say, with a fake happy façade. I feel an arm drape over my shoulder and look over to see Watari with his usual flirtatious smirk. "All the better now that you're here, say, why don't I walk you home after school, hmmm?" After he said that, I felt my own smirk rise, however, no one saw. "Sorry, dear Watari, but I think someone else has that job already covered. Right, Kousei?" Damn, did little miss sweet (y/n) just kill two birds with one stone? She sure as hell did... wait, when did I start thinking in third person. Yeah, I've lost my mind. "KOUSEI, WHAT THE HELL MAN, STEALING A CUTE GIRL FROM ME, WHAT'S GOTTEN INTO YOU?!?!?!" Watari yelled, shaking Kousei by the shoulders. "Hehe, Watari calm down, we are hanging out for business purposes only." I said with a thumbs up. "What do you mean (y/n), do you guys have some school project to do?" Tsubaki asks. "Nope, I lost a bet with Nori, and he forced me to play the violin in a classical competition, but Kastu refuses to be my accompanist, so I asked Kousei to help me. Fortunately, it didn't take as much convincing as I had originally thought."

~BRRINGGG~

"Guess it's time for class, come on guys let's get a move on!" Tsubaki says enthusiastically.

-Le time skip to after school at Kousei's-

Kousei's pov (I know, there are a lot of these)

We were at the front door step of my home and (y/n) had said she chose Paganini Caprice 24 when we had stopped to grab some popsicles. It was interesting choice, but we are talking about (y/n) here, so I simply agreed. I was about to open the door, when all of the sudden the door just flies open.

"KOUSEI ARIMA, YOU HAVE SOME EXPLAINING TO, COMING HOME LATE AFTER SCHOOL AND NOT TELLING ME BEFOREHAND WHY!!!" Oh no, Hiroko was here, no no no no no. How was I supposed to practice with (y/n) if she was here. "WELL WHAT DO YOU-" Hiroko stops her sentence when she looks over and sees (y/n). "Hey Hiroko, long time no see." (y/n) says cheerfully. "Wow Kousei, you got a girlfriend already, not to mention it's the oh great (y/f/n) (y/l/n), lucky pick there, hahaha!" I was utterly frazzled. And not to mention, looking like a total tomato. "Oh no, Hiroko, it's nothing like that, we are just good friends, we only met a couple of days ago." (y/n) giggled, how was she able to keep her cool after a statement like that. "Wait, uh, how do you two know each other exactly?" I questioned. "Well, how can you expect the top piano player and the top violin player in all of Japan to have not played at least one duet together?" Hiroko answered. "Wait (y/n), you're the best violin player in all of Japan?" I asked, and (y/n) looked at me and smiled. "You bet I am, I am surprised you didn't know that. You know you aren't the only young musical prodigy in the entire world right?"

When Koari always spoke so highly of her, I don't know why she never mentioned something as important as that.

I guess she always loved people for who they were, not what they did.
