Your POV
"1 e and two three and four e and a." I spoke quietly, reviewing my sloppily written music. I was sitting in my hospital room, writing a new song, spending hours upon hours of time on this song, the only other thing I really did was therapy.
"(y/n), your operation is in a couple of hours, anyone else you want to speak to, you know, just in case." Mrs. Oshiro said, sounding slightly nervous for my sake.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I may or may not have asked my aunt to have the operation that could spare me a little more time, yeah, the very operation that killed my best friend, Kaori.
"Yeah, there are a few more people I wish to see." I said, hesitantly, I didn't want to face my friends right now, but I didn't have a choice, I need to tell them, I promised to be honest. And besides, I already talked to Katsu and Nori, they told me it would be best if told them, and I trust these two with my life.
I started a small group chat with Tsubaki, Watari, and Kousei.
Y-Hey guys, I was wondering if you could all come down to the hospital, I need to speak with you all. If you can't don't sweat it, but it's kind of important.
A couple minutes later, my phone rang a few times.
T- Totally, I know I'll be down there in a few minutes, I was planning on visiting anyway.
W- I was planning on joining you, TSUBAKI, but yeah, I'll be there, I can'[t say no to a cute girl like you.
K- Watari, stop flirting, it's giving me a headache.
W- You jelly?
K- She is my girlfriend.
Y- ARIMA STOP FLAUNTING ME LIKE A GOLDEN METAL AND ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION!!!
K-Yeesh, yeah, I'll be there.
Y- Good, I'll see you all in a few minutes, please hurry, I don't have all day, I'll be late for therapy if you don't all make it here soon. :) LATERRRR!!!
T- Bye (y/n), we miss you.
W- Bye, see you soon <3
K-Bye.
Y- Way to be boring Arima -_-
K- I'm already halfway out the door (y/n), I don't have time to worry about my word choice.
Y- Kk, love youuuuu.
K- yeah, yeah, love you too.
T- you two are disgusting.
Y- I love you too Tsubakiiii!!!
W- WHAT ABOUT ME (Y/N)!!
Y- ugh, I love you too Watari.....NOW GET YOUR ASSES MOVING!!
W- I think I speak for all of us when I say, roger that Commander (y/n)!!
Y- alright see you, guys.
I turn my phone off, laughing at the conversation we had. I was glad to have such great friends, I know they are worried about be, but they don't act like they pity me, and I thank them for that.
-time skip-
"Hey, how's our little (y/n)?" Watari said with his usually peppy happy smile and tone of voice.
"Doing great, how about you guys?" I asked, faking a small smile, considering the news I was about to break to them.
"We couldn't better, we get to visit you." Tsubaki said putting her small school bag down on a small visitors stool that they placed in my hospital room.
"So, you said that there was something important you wanted to discuss with us?" Kousei asked, with clear amounts of curiosity.
"Well, I want you all to listen, and promise me something."
"What is it?" Kousei asked again in the same curious tone as before.
"Will you promise not to hate me, even after I told you what I've decided." Everyone's eyes widened.
"We can't hate you (y/n), you know that, is it that important?" Tsubaki said with terrible amounts of concern.
"*sigh* It's better if I just explain it." I took another deep breath, trying to soothe myself a tad.
"Well, a couple weeks back, I had made the vow that no matter what happened, I was to
compete in the finals. I was desperately trying to better myself with the therapy, but when my doctor had told me that the therapy had no benefit for me, I made a rather rash decision. I went asked for an operation, one that would give me more time, and make me better."
"What's wrong with that, that sounds great, you can be fixed and enjoy your life outside of this dank padded prison?" Watari said with enthusiasm.
"This operation is the very operation that killed Kaori."
The entire room went silent, no one spoke a word, but many tears fled from everyone's' eyes, even my own.
"Y-You... can't be serious, you d-didn't actually do that right, you're kidding right?" Tsubaki said in denial.
"I'm sorry, but it's the only way." I shifted my gaze down to my white sheet covered lap.
"W-When is it?" Watari asked, sounding as sympathetic as he could. I looked up at the clock and cringed
"In five minutes." I spoke bluntly and calmly, but really, I was a wreck underneath my curtain of (h/c) hair.
"NO! (Y/N), YOU CAN'T, PLEASE, NOT YOU TOO!!" Tsubaki yelled, trying to speak smoothly through sobs, but failing.
Kousei didn't say anything, just standing frozen, mouth sewed shut, not a single word being able to accumulate through all of his emotions, I could tell.
KNOCK KNOCK
"Excuse me, Miss (y/l/n), it's time." Mrs. Oshiro said, her eyes watering from the scene. She had always been like a mother figure to me, and I a daughter to her, since she told me she was barren and couldn't have children.
"R-Right." I stuttered out, holding back even more tears.
Kousei grabbed onto my arm before I could leave.
"No matter what happens in there (y/n), I want you to fight with everything you've got. No matter what, I will be here waiting, ok?" He said, the river of emotion running down his face.
"I promise." We hugged and I sat down in my wheelchair.
I turn around one last time and see Watari hugging Tsubaki as she sobs on the floor, but I look up and see Kousei, and an unexpected sight.
He had a smile on his face, a caring one, one filled with courage, one of faith.
He believed in me.
(Sorry I didn't update yesterday, I had a mild bit of writer's block.)
