Kousei's pov
I couldn't hold back tears anymore, my vision became blurry and I sank to my knees. "What are you talking about, (y/n), how could you say something like that?" I asked, trying to hold back sobs. "It's for your own good, trust me, it's best if you just forgot about me. I don't want to cause you any more pain, I shouldn't have forced you to be my accompanist, I shouldn't have become your girlfriend, I shouldn't have met you, I shouldn't' be causing you more pain. You need to trust me when I say it's better if you just forgot me." She says, breaking down and catching her tears in the palms of her hands.
I couldn't restrain myself, I threw my arms around her shoulders. "I don't care how much pain I have to bear (y/n), never say anything like that again, you're worth it." She continued to sob, but harder than before. She suddenly grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me down to her level, but harshly. "Kousei, do it for me, if you really want to make me happy, forget about me!!"
"You know it's not that easy, I can't just fall in love with someone and then forget about them a few days later!! (y/n), I can't do that, not for you, not for me. It would cause me more pain to forget about you rather than to live with the pain a relationship can cause. (y/n), please, don't make me suffer like that."
"A-Are you sure, I don't think it's right, to make you deal with me. I am difficult, and you're too nice of a guy to deal with someone like me, a pathetic good for nothing but violin girl like me." I smile and pat her head. "Then I guess I'm in love with a pathetic good for nothing but violin girl huh?" She suddenly starts to bust out laughing. "Yeah, I guess so. Well, why don't we let the others in. I think we've been making them wait long enough." I let my grin widen, and nod along with it. I open the door and Tsubaki and Watari practically bust in and start hugging and interrogating her.
"(y/n), are you okay, please tell us you're going to be able to play in the finals?!"
"(y/n), you didn't do anything that made you lose your memory or anything right?!"
"Guys, guys, calm down, I'm fine, if anything, I've never been better. I am coming back to school in two days and I should be able to take my eye patch of my tomorrow. Isn't that great?!" (y/n) says with a smile on her face. I felt a bit of relief swell up within me, I am just glad this was a temporary thing, and that she'd be okay.
"What happened anyway, how did you manage to pass out?" Watari asked, with a bit of y, worry in his voice. "Oh, well, actually, it's pretty embarrassing. The day of the competition, I was so focused on some last minute practicing, that I forgot to eat. That caused me to drain myself during the performance to the point of me passing out. I am sorry for making you worry, I know it probably makes me look like an idiot right?" She said, forcing out a nervous laugh
"Wow, you really are an idiot aren't you?" Tsubaki said, rubbing the back of her neck, holding back nervous laughter. "HEY, NO ONE ASKED YOU SOFTBALL BRAIN!" (y/n) yelled, but ended it with genuine laughter. "But I guess you're right, I have done some really stupid things lately, not to mention, my performance was kind of pitiful last night." All of us let our jaws become Jello and fall open. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE THAT GOOD, EVER!!!" Watari yelled in confusion. "Meh, I've done better." (y/n) says casually, shrugging her shoulders with her eyes closed.
"I don't understand what understand what makes your expectations so high but whatever it is, it must be god like considering how you play." Tsubaki says, with utter astonishment. "But that doesn't matter right now, we brought cake and I am not wasting the money I spent on this." Watari said. (y/n)'s eyes light up in seconds. "No way, dessert. I have been dying for something sweet forever. Well, let's not waste anytime, I'll call the nurse down and ask her if she can get us some plates and silverware."
(y/n) pushed the button on the side of her bed that signaled the nurse. And soon enough we were sitting down, celebrating, like we weren't even in a hospital.
-le time skip to cake eating time- yaaaaaaay
Your pov
"And then, I was able to score the goal from over five yards away, with the goalie just inches away from the ball, it was insane!!!" Watari said with overflowing enthusiasm. I pretended to listen intently, but really, I was dozing off. The truth was that I hated sports so much that a conversation about them that lasted even five seconds long was enough to put me to sleep. "Wow, that's amazing, I've never heard of something like that, you're in your own league, aren't you Watari?" I said, with a super fake smile. I saw out of the corner of my eye, Kousei was smirking, he totally saw straight through, he knew I was just being nice, but that doesn't mean that Watari had to know.
"That's so nice of you to say, I mean I guess you're right but, I never really thought of it like that." Watari said, pretending to be bashful and modest. "Hey guys, I think we've bothered (Y/n) long enough, we should probably get going." Tsubaki said, with a kind smile. The trio got up from their spots and packed up any belongings that they had taken out from their various bags. "Bye (y/n), I'm sure we'll come back tomorrow." Tsubaki said with a wave. I smiled, genuinely for once, and waved back. "Bye guys, I'll see you soon."
Everyone left but Kousei. He walked up to me and leaned over, pulling me into a hug. "You don't know how much I miss you." I felt another genuine smile rise to my face and pull away to prove it. "I missed you to you know." After I said that he gave me a small peck on the cheek and was about to leave, but I decided to mess with him a bit. I grabbed his sleeve and held him back. "Hey, you missed." He turned around in confusion, but didn't have enough time to say anything before I pressed my lips to his. I felt the shock on his face but he relaxed into. I eventually pulled away, and smiled. "Bye, I know you'll probably come back tomorrow anyway, but I just can't wait to see you again." He gave me a pat on the head, saying a small 'goodbye', and leaving.
I sighed in relief, the surprise visit made me nervous, I didn't know how to deal with it, but I guess I managed just fine. "Excuse me, Ms. (y/l/n), I think it's time to hook you back up to the IV drip, right?" I nodded as my nurse had purposed to continue with my treatment. "Uhm, Ms. (Y/l/n), I do believe you should tell your friends the truth, I think they will find out eventually anyway." I let my head hang in shame. "I know, I'll tell them, just not yet.
