Ivy's POV

"I told you I don't need to look sexy."

"I don't care what you said. Girls need to be jealous of you and guys need to want you."

"I don't want people to be jealous of me. And I don't want guys to want me."

"Avi?"

"I don't need some revealing dress for that."

"But it's New Years."

"Mitch I don't want to hear it anymore. I'm not going to walk around a party looking like I just came off the street."

We've been arguing back and forth for the past twenty minutes about what kind of dress I was getting for the New Years party at his and Scott's place. He insisted on me getting some low-cut revealing dress, but I didn't want that. I was willing to go sparkly but other than that, I was wearing what I thought was cute.

I pulled off the dress I was currently trying on and changed back into my lazy clothes. I began looking through the racks, not bothering to argue with Mitch anymore. Kirstie walked up holding a gold sparkly dress. It was strapless and seemed to be pretty short.

I was hesitant, but I took it and disappeared into the fitting room. Trying it on, I stared at myself in the mirror, smoothing the fabric out as I smirked slightly. Poking my head out, I looked at Mitch and raised my eyebrows. "Why can't you be more like Kirst?" I asked with a laugh.

"Shut up and let me see," he said impatiently. I laughed once again and walked out, spinning completely around once.

"I really like it," Kirstie said as she clapped her hands a few times.

"Needs more leg showing," Mitch said, causing me to roll my eyes. If it was anyone else, I would have probably cussed them out, but Mitch was just having a day.

"If I show anymore, I might as well just go naked," I said as I turned and returned to the fitting room. After changing, I walked out with a small smile. "Would it make you feel any better if I let you pick out the shoes?"

Mitch instantly jumped up and ran off. I laughed and took his spot as I waited patiently. "Do you already have something to wear?" I asked Kirstie as I glanced over at her.

"Yeah. It's black and silver and it's one shoulder." She pulled out her phone and scrolled through her pictures, stopping and showing me one of the dress.

"Okay, one, I'm in love with that dress! And two, why do you two always insist on keeping me away from Avi when I'm shopping like this?"

"It's not my idea. It's always his. You know how he can get excited. He thinks surprises make a relationship."

"I personally don't mind, but I would love to see you more than they allow."

I smiled widely and turned around to see Avi approaching us. "What are you doing here? You know Mitch is gonna kill you."

"He can't do that." He leaned down and gave my cheek a quick peck. "Scott and Kevin are here and dragged me along. I'm here because of them so Mitch can't kill me."

"Oh I can't, can I?" My eyes widened slightly as Mitch stood behind Avi with a pair of shoes in his hands, the heel of one pointed directly at my boyfriend. I stood up quickly and took the shoes from him.

"Play nice." I looked over the shoes, then back at the dress and hugged the brunette tightly. "I love them," I said quietly before grabbing my dress and going to pay. Once I returned, I noticed Mitch was gone and glanced around, just barely catching him and Scott together.
