Ivy's POV
"Mommy mommy! Jace keeps messing up my piture!"
"Jace what have I told you."
"Be nice to everyone! Speciawy famwy!" the toddler recites perfectly. I laugh slightly and walk over, kissing the top of his head.
"Good. So stop messing with your sister. You can make your own drawing and Sky can make hers," I hear a deep voice boom as Avi walks into the dining room. He just got back from tour last night so it was still different to hear his voice again.
I give him a quick peck on the cheek before fixing the kids both a plate of breakfast. I sit down and begin to eat when I hear a violent banging sound. "Daddy why are the walls shaking?" Skyler asks sweetly, though her face is full of fear.
"I don't know sweetheart," he says just as it stops. We wait for several minutes for it to happen again, but it doesn't so we continue eating. Then it starts again.
I stifled a groan as I woke up, still hearing that constant banging. It was a dream. The walls trembled with each wrap, but I simply buried my face in the pillow. It would go away soon. And it did.
It was slightly colder than normal, but I didn't think much of it until I lifted my head and saw clothes scattered all over the room. This is why I can't make myself promises when it comes to him. In order to keep a promise, you need self-control, and neither of us have any of that when it comes to each other. Apparently, we proved it last night.
I turned over so my back was to the door, groaning softly at the slight aching in my body. It was a strange feeling, being sore. I was usually fine the morning after. Then again the man I saw last night wasn't the Avi I knew. That our friends knew.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and smiled slightly. "You're tense."
"Not tense. Stiff," I said as I slowly managed to turn over so I was facing Avi, a cheesy grin on my face as I poked his cheek. "And it's your fault."
"Sorry," he said shyly, giving me one of the cutest pouts I think I'd ever seen. "It just kind of happened, but look on the bright side. Now you know what happens when you go all badass around me."
I laughed a bit and shook my head, moving a bit closer so our lips were only a few inches apart. "It's fine. I don't mind at all," I said and closed the distance between us as I gave him a small kiss, but it possessed more passion than I thought. I pulled away, thinking that was the end of it until he practically shoved me onto my back, the same exact primal urge in his kiss as last night had returned.
"I REGRET EVERYTHING!!!!"
Avi and I both bolted up into a sitting position, my hand clutching the covers over my chest as we stared at Mitch and Kirstie who were looking anywhere but at us. "What the hell are you doing here?! And how did you get into my apartment?" I asked, my face flushed with embarrassment.
"Spare key that I regret finding!" Mitch said, still covering his eyes. I couldn't help but laugh slightly at his reaction. I wasn't about to apologize for what could've happened, but he was lucky. He could have waited about ten more minutes, but then I don't think he would have ever spoken to either of us again.
"We'll be in the living room," Kirstie said quickly and ushered Mitch downstairs while he kept yelling that he wasn't sitting on the couch. I couldn't help but laugh when they disappeared and leaned over, resting my head against Avi's shoulder.
"I thought you locked the bedroom door last night," I said curiously.
"I did but we unlocked it, remember?"
Oh I remembered alright. "Hey Mitch, I wouldn't sit on the coffee table if I were you!" I called, laughing hysterically when I heard a scream and a thud.
We got up and quickly got dressed. Avi simply threw on a pair of jeans and one of his tshirts he had left at my place while I threw on a pair of NIKE shorts and the shirt he had worn yesterday, which happened to be the one with Yoshi on it.
We walked down in silence to see Mitch furiously rubbing the back of his pants and Kirstie trying her best to stop laughing. "That's what you get for barging into someone's apartment without them knowing," I said with a smirk, taking a seat on the couch next to Avi. "Why didn't you knock?"
"We were knocking for fifteen minutes before we remembered you had a spare key somewhere. We wanted to make sure you didn't get arrested after punching Catherine yesterday. You kinda knocked a tooth out," Kirstie said, trying, and failing, to stifle a laugh.
"Didn't get arrested. I just needed to. We were leaving and I heard her voice. I thought I had imagined it until I looked over and she looked up. I knew it was her immediately. But really though, I'm fine. The big thing right now is the fact that I can barely move without feeling some sort of pain, no matter how slight it is."
"Did you get beaten up?" Mitch asks, still not looking at us, but he had calmed down.
"Not exactly. I don't think you want to know the real answer to that question. His eyes go wide and I shrugged. "You asked."
"Anyway! We mainly just came to make sure you don't have a police record and to let you know that besides what they saw before with the contusions, broken ribs, and concussion, Scott's just fine. He's supposed to call when he signs the discharge papers," Kirstie spoke up with a smile.
"Speak of the devil. He just texted me. He's ready," Mitch said right after checking his phone. "We'll fill you guys in later!" He called as he impatiently pulled Kirstie along behind him. I rolled my eyes, picking up my spare key off the coffee table. Shaking my head and tossing it back down, I walked over and locked the door, sure no one could come in now.
"Well that's good that he's finally able to get home," Avi said as I returned to the couch just as he stood up. "What do you say you and I celebrate," He added with a cheesy smile.
"What did you have in mind?" I asked curiously. "I mean you tend to eat all my food."
"Well, I was thinking," he paused thoughtfully, "I was pretty content earlier." I squealed as he hoisted me up and over his shoulder, refusing to let me go as he bounded up the stairs, taking two at a time.
