Owlflight is above!!
The forest was brewing with danger, and though the night was clear, storm clouds gathered on the horizon. The forest around the lake was quiet, eerily so. In the shadows of the forest, four shapes slunk along. A lithe black queen perked her ears, alert. Her kits tumbled along beside her, quiet and confused.
"Mother, why are we so far from our den?" Asked her young tomkit. His sisters said nothing, but looked curious and frightened. The queen hesitated, then lowered her body beside her kits, her tail draped around them.
"We are looking for a big group of cats called WindClan, my kits," she mewed quietly, unease in her voice. Her kits stared up at her, wide-eyed.
"But why?" Mewed the little black she-kit, defiant. Her mother purred, reaching down to nuzzle her daughter.
"Because, dear one, that is where my father lives."
"Your father? What is his name?" These questions were voiced by her littlest kit, Owlkit. The young kit looked at her mother, trust and love welled deep in her eyes. The queen's heart broke at the sight of such trust, knowing what would happen once she reached WindClan. She sighed.
"Crowfeather," she murmured, "My father is Crowfeather."

Owlpaw stared dejectedly at a leaf, heartbroken all over again at the memory of her mother leaving her and her siblings to go fight in a war. She could still remember Hollyleaf's milk-scent, and her warmth. First her father died, then Hollyleaf. StarClan, why did they have to go? Owlpaw was broken out of her trance by a huge white lump barreling into her side.
"Snap out of it, Owlpaw," her foster littermate, Buzzardpaw, mewed excitedly, "We're going on a hunt! And then we'll become warriors!" Buzzardpaw's bright chatter was interrupted by a disdainful mew.
"Don't be mouse-brained, Buzzardpaw. We are no where near finished with our training." Owlpaw's brother, Oakpaw, approached them, their sister Ravenpaw close behind.
"Don't be a stick in the mud, Oakpaw! I'm just trying to cheer up Owlpaw." Oakpaw glanced at his sister.
"Are you mewling over Hollyleaf again? I don't know why you bother mourning her, she abandoned us!" Owlpaw felt her fur bristle at her brother's harsh words.
"That's not true!" The little she-cat yowled furiously before pouncing on her brother. The two batted ferociously at each other, their anger a thick cloud around them. It wasn't long before the fight was broken.
"Enough, you two!" The command came from Onestar, their clan leader looming above them. "This is not how two clanmates should behave! Where are your mentors?" Owlpaw stepped away from her brother, her head ducked sheepishly. Oakpaw glared at her, but answered Onestar.
"Crowfeather and Hootwhisker went on a hunting patrol. We were training earlier, and were sent back to camp to rest awhile." Buzzardpaw interjected quickly.
"Actually, Furzepelt asked for me and Owlpaw. We're meant to go hunting." Onestar considered this.
"No," he said finally, "Owlpaw and Oakpaw will stay here and tend to Whitetail, whatever she may need. Take Ravenpaw with you instead." Buzzardpaw looked as if she'd object for a moment, but clearly thought better of it as she nodded consent and went off with Ravenpaw. Traitor. Onestar turned to them. "What are you two still doing here? Go, tend to Whitetail." Owlpaw sighed, and went to help her elder. I cannot wait until I am a warrior

A cold wind blew over a forest lake, shaking the oak canopy leaves. Stars glimmered brightly in the night sky, where Silverpelt shone like a banner. Below the sky, the forest was still and quiet. A small light-brown tabby wove through the broad oak forest, stopping in a small clearing far from the lakeshore.
The tabby she-cat settled near a huckleberry bush, waiting. There was a sudden rustle from a nearby thicket, but the she-cat remained still, unconcerned. A black she-cat slid into the clearing, followed by a disheveled gray she-cat with a stout, flat muzzle.
" Hollyleaf, Yellowfang!" The tabby ran up to greet the pair, "How is prey running?" The grizzled gray she-cat narrowed her yellow eyes at the pretty tabby.
"Prey runs as well as expected in StarClan," she muttered, "We haven't come to discuss mice with you though, Leafpool." Hollyleaf, the black she-cat, raised her tail to silence her prickly companion, who cast her a disdainful glance. She met Leafpool's gaze, seriousness etched onto her face.
"A time of great change is coming for you and our kin. You must find thunder in the wind and travel to the rising place. The owl will bear the morning star on its wings and the leaf will rise." Leafpool sighed as Hollyleaf finished telling her a new prophecy.
"Must StarClan always speak in riddles? What does this mean?" Yellowfang snorted.
"It's not for us to tell, young one. You must forge your destiny for you and your kin. This is a quest tokened to you and you alone. Good luck, Leafpool, and know the whole of StarClan lights your path." And with that, the starry cats faded from her dream.

Leafpool woke with a start, morning light filtering through the canopy of her medicine cat den. You must find thunder in the wind and travel to the rising place. The owl will bear the morning star on its wings, and the leaf will rise.
Leafpool rested her head back on her paws, brooding over her given prophecy. Oh StarClan, what does this all mean?
Hello, everyone! I am Morningstream (<--- **Remember this, it will be important ;)**)
Welcome to my first Warriors fanfic!! I'd like to first say 'Hi" and I'd also like to take this moment to say thank you to Erin Hunter, creators of this beautiful saga!! All rights to them for inspiring so many people with their wonderful cats.
Second thing to address. I know a lot of people will be upset that I am using the original four Clans in this story. Well, tough! This story will take place in the original world, however, I will be adding OC Clans is a distant territory. This book is a super edition prequel to what I hope will be a long, ongoing series here on Wattpad!! Just hang tight, my dear clanmates!!
So, if we are gonna be a clan, what should the name be? ReadingClan?? (LOL...No) WattClan? (Eh..) You guys leave comments on this, lemme know! Also, what do you think the prophecy means??
Vote, Comment, but most of all, ENJOY!!!
May StarClan light your paths, dear warriors!!
P.S. We could totally be StarClan in the comment section and decide the live of our cats, but you must COMMENT!!! Also, if you want a cat in this book, just leave it in the comments with a quick description, or message me!!
