Chaos immediately descended upon the Clans as Dawnstar sat among the other leaders. Many warriors from RippleClan and a few from EchoClan stood in protest, their fur rising in agitation.
"This is preposterous! Clans cannot be made out of nowhere!" A lanky RippleClan elder yowled.
"Then perhaps you shouldn't be a clan either!" A she cat from the newly introduced CloudClan snapped. Dawnstar narrowed her eyes at the RippleClan elder.
"And you would deny the word of StarClan?" The leader asked haughtily. Duskstar narrowed his eyes.
"No cat here denies StarClan," the leader said gruffly. Dawnstar rounded on him.
"It seems you do if you cannot accept my Clan!" She snapped, her fur rising. A low glow built in the throats of a few EchoClan warriors below. Owlflight stood, her paw protectively against Morningkit.
"Let's not lose ourselves," she said calmly. "StarClan said there will be four. I think it's time to accept they meant four Clans." Nightstar turned on her.
"What business of it is yours? You're not even a proper Clan!" The leader objected with a hiss. Owlflight straightened.
"We are LeafClan," she replied evenly, and met the gaze of her fellow Clanmates, who straightened with new purpose. "Our territory will be on the forest side of the river and stretch to the sparse rocks that will mark the boundary between us and EchoClan." She narrowed her eyes at Nightstar, who arched her back in fury.
"You cannot be a Clan if you have no leader, deputy or medicine cat!" She hissed, and Owlflight growled in return.
"What matters is the future of my Clan! I have seen in a dream that we will have a leader, medicine cat and deputy— and until then, I will service my Clan as all three! That was StarClan's purpose in bringing me here and I will not let any cat stop me from carrying out their will!" Her eyes blazed like green fire, and her Clanmates below let out cries of support and approval.
"We must listen to her," Duskstar decide, and met Nightstar's gaze. "Change is hard, but we have all lived in isolation for long enough. If StarClan wishes for us to be four, then four we shall be." He dipped his head to Owlflight and Dawnstar. Nightstar glanced between them all, her green gaze calculating the best options for her Clan. She finally sighed.
"I suppose sharing a border with a Clan won't be so bad. It'll give our patrols true purpose," she glanced at Dawnstar, "But don't expect RippleClan patrols to go easy on your border. We will defend our territory tooth and claw." Her Clanmates yowled in affirmation. Dawnstar smiled coyly.
"I extend the same warning, Nightstar. CloudClan will not stand to be underestimated," she replied evenly, her own Clanmates letting out loud calls. Duskstar met Owlflight's gaze.
"If StarClan grants you guardianship of your Clan until a leader and medicine cat arise, then there is no further need for EchoClan to intercede. May we go with peace." He dipped his head and Owlflight nodded.
"LeafClan thanks you for the kindness and patience you showed us these lasts moons. Peace be with you and all of EchoClan, Duskstar." She replied gratefully. Duskstar stood.
"In accordance to StarClan's will, we four Clans will gather here the next full moon and each one after that. May this be a time of peace for us all," the black leader voiced. Dawnstar stood.
"Before the Gathering ends tonight, I'd like to share?" Her voice was a question that held no room for argument. Duskstar nodded and Nightstar twitched her tail impatiently. Dawnstar stepped forward.
"CloudClan will mark their territory in the bluff that overlook the sea, our border stretching from the rocky pass between us and RippleClan, to the tide pool beyond. My deputy Blackclaw," she pointed to the black tom, "Will be setting up patrols there within the day. Our medicine cat Ambermoon is happy to meet with the other medicine cats come half moon." Dawnstar stepped back, having made her point clear. Her Clan was strong in leadership and she'd make sure their safety was secure. Owlflight fidgeted a bit, painfully aware that they had no proper medicine cat, deputy or leader. As the Gathering dissembled, she walked with her Clanmates back to camp with an uneasiness heavy on her mind.

A few moons later, Owlflight stood in the center of camp, speaking to Oakcharge about patrols. Though she'd said she would serve as deputy and leader, she could always use the help. After all, she was a mother too!"Have we had anymore trouble on the farm border?" She asked with a frown. Her brother shook his head.
"No. The loners have come to respect the new border. I hope we have peace on that border for moons to come." The brown tom seemed content. Owlflight smiled.
"That's good. Let's set up the evening—"
"I shall defeat the RippleClan invaders!" An exuberant cry came from below Owlflight as Morningkit dashed from between the queens legs and charged at Oakkit, who ran from her with gleeful laughs. Leafkit nearly tripped his mother as he ran between her legs and followed Morningkit.
"Come back here!" The big tom kit yowled after his smaller brother. Owlflight plucked him mid air as he prepared to leap. "Hey!" She places a paw on Morningkit's tail as her daughter tried to escape, doing the same as she put Leafkit down. From the corner of her eye, she saw Oakkit trying to creep away.
"Come here, Oakkit," she mewed sternly, without raising her voice. The small tom slunk over. Owlflight face the glum stares of three of her kits. Oakcharge smiled wryly at Owlflight before trotting away.
"Oakkit, Leafkit. Morningkit," she said pointedly as her daughter began to look away. The small she kit turned back immediately. "What have I told you about running around camp?" Leafkit glared at his paws.
"Not to," he muttered smartly, earning a shove from his sister. Morningkit blinked up sweetly.
"We shouldn't run through camp because we might trip old cats!" She recited innocently. Owlflight brushes away the old cat insult.
"Why then," the mother continued patiently, "were you three running in camp?" Oakkit looked down, and Leafkit looked away. Morningkit sighed.
"We were just playing!" She whined suddenly, her temper bursting through the innocent act she was playing. "You never let us play! And you always say we're not allowed from camp! One day when I'm older, and I have kits, they'll always be allowed to explore and have fun! You're so mean!" Morningkit wailed before running into the Nursery, a worried Riverkit looking after her. Owlflight sighed, meeting her sons' eyes. Both little toms looked down at their paws.
"We're sorry, Owlflight," Oakkit said first, looking up. Leafkit flicked his tail sullenly before looking at his mother.
"Yeah, we won't run in camp again," he promised, looking glum to do so. Owlflight sighed, touching each of their noses with her tail lovingly.
"I just want you to be safe, and mindful of those around you," she sighed. "Go see if Spiderpaw or Dewpaw will teach you some hunting moves." She offered, and her sons perked up.
"Okay! Thanks Owlflight!" They chorused, rubbing against her legs before seeking out the apprentices. She smiled fondly after them before seeking out her daughter. Owlflight slipped into the warm, welcoming Nursery, flicking away the cold from the late leaf-bare outside.
Morningkit was curled in her nest, her back facing the entrance, her ears flat against her head. Owlflight stepped into her nest, curling around her kit, and Morningkit continued to ignore her.
"Morningkit," Owlflight nosed her daughter's shoulder, and the she kit shoved her off petulantly. Owlflight sighed. "Before you were born, I lost a cat so very special to me." Morningkit gazed at her through one gloomy eye.
"Our father?" She asked, her tail muffling her voice. Owlflight sighed.
"Yes, dear. Rowanoak.. I promised him I'd keep you safe. I promised," she touched Morningkit's face gently. "I don't mean to be mean. I just want you to be safe so you may grow up into the best warrior possible." Morningkit was still for a moment before rushing to her mother, nuzzling her.
"Okay, Owlflight!" She purred sweetly. "I promise I'll listen, and when I grow up I'll be the best warrior ever!"
