ThunderClan's forest was cool and shaded, birdsong and other prey-sounds filled Owlflight's ears as she followed Leafpool to ThunderClan camp. Owlflight had never had much interaction with ThunderClan, aside from Gatherings, that is. Despite sharing kin and a border with the forest cats, Owlflight kept mostly to WindClan. Even during the Great Storm and a minor border skirmish a few moons ago, Owlflight avoided ThunderClan, scared that if she showed any interest in her mother's Clan, that she'd be looked down upon by her Clanmates.
Now, though, she was going to face the entirety of ThunderClan, and she felt at loss. Knowing that Leafpool was Hollyleaf's mother was one thing. Meeting the rest of her kin would be another matter entirely. She remembered, faintly, Hollyleaf telling and her littermates stories about her and her brothers and their adventures. Leafpool led the cats through the forest, her tail swishing as she walked. As they neared the camp, the scent of ThunderClan grew thick. They smell like leaves and fresh dew, thought Owlflight absentmindedly.
Leafpool stopped near a patch of marigold. "Sorry," she mewed apologetically, "I remembered that Jayfeather asked me to get some for him before leaving the Clan. We are in low supply. I'll be just a moment." She bent over the marigold plant. Buzzardwing leaned into Owlflight.
"I can't believe we're going into ThunderClan camp and leaving the Clans all in the same day!" She whispered, "It's all so scary and exciting." Owlflight nodded in response.
"I know. To think that I'm part of a prophecy still shocks me. I never thought I'd be apart of a prophecy, or asked to go on a mission like this from StarClan. It's really exciting!" Owlflight said, her paws kneading in suppressed excitement. As they got closer to ThunderClan camp, however, her excitement evaporated. Owlflight was immensely nervous, she'd never been to another Clan's camp! Leafpool, carrying the herbs she'd gathered, pressed through the thorny tunnel that led into ThunderClan camp. The two she cats followed a little slowly, and walked into a large clearing. ThunderClan camp was in a large, rocky hollow, where thick, overgrown foliage climes at the rocky walls. Several nests could be seen, and a large ledge overlooked camp. Already, cats were Gathering under the Highledge, and Owlflight folded her ears nervously. Bramblestar, who the former WindClan warriors recognized immediately from the Gatherings, padded from his den and leapt onto the Highledge.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highledge!" He called. Beneath him, Squirrelflight rolled her eyes. Only a few more cats came into the clearing for the Clan meeting, as most had already gathered. Owlflight was met by looks of suspicion, anger, curiosity and wariness. She had never felt smaller in her life. Bramblestar looked over his Clan.
"As many of you may know by now, considering how fast gossip spreads in this Clan," his voice rang with amusement, and a few heads dropped sheepishly, "Leafpool will be temporarily leaving our Clan with these two cats, one of whom-"
Bramblestar was cut of by a loud snort of indignation. Jayfeather stood from his spot under the Highledge, his blind eyes flashing.
"Do you honestly believe-" Leafpool hissed around her herbs, which she placed down immediately.
"Jayfeather! Hollyleaf told me herself! Do you doubt the wisdom of StarClan?" She countered with a glare. Owlflight whisked her tail, annoyance finally replacing her unease. How dare this cat tell her who her mother was? Owlflight stood tall, her mossy green eyes flashing with disdain. She held her tongue, however. Though she really wanted to snap at the grumpy medicine cat. Squirrelflight must've noticed her sudden fierceness, because the ginger deputy laughed.
"Oh," she pointed with her tail, "Look at the fire in her eyes! Come now, how could anyone deny that Hollyleaf is her mother?" Owlflight felt her fur heat as several ThunderClan eyes were on her at once, and she wanted to shrink under the scrutiny. However, her pride kept her head high as she narrowed her eyes in defiance. Cinderheart, a warrior who Owlflight recognized from the patrol yesterday, was the first to break the tension.
"You're right, Squirrelflight," the gray warrior purred, "I can certainly see much of Hollyleaf in her eyes." Whispers broke out among some of the smaller groups of ThunderClan warriors and Bramblestar called the Clan to attention.
"They will be leaving shortly, but let us share prey and celebrate Hollyleaf's daughter before they go! Please, make our guests feel welcome!" Bramblestar said before leaping from the Highledge.

The afternoon quickly passed and Owlflight found herself sad to say goodbye to her new friends and kin in ThunderClan. She'd even miss Jayfeather, who had begrudgingly eaten with her at the request, or rather, order, of Leafpool and Squirrelflight. She'd actually made him laugh when she retold a story about her kithood, and the trouble she stirred with her siblings."That actually sounds like something Hollyleaf, Lionblaze and I would do," he had chuckled. Squirrelflight has flicked his ear with her tail and laughed.
"That is something you did do with your littermates!" She huffed, and purrs has broken out from the cats who had gathered. Lionblaze and Cinderheart has shared stories of mischief they'd made with Hollyleaf, and even Bramblestar joined in on the storytelling.
Now, Owlflight stood with Leafpool and Buzzardwing at the camp entrance, saying goodbye to her newfound kin. As she padded out of the ThunderClan camp, she felt a strange sense of foreboding. Something told her that this was the beginning of a very important part of her life.
Sorry for the short update and the long wait! I'm finally getting a sense for future chapters and they should be rolling out more often! Thanks for your patience and support!
