When Josh and I entered the pizza place he was taking me to it was already 6 pm.
As always it took Josh an eternity to start his homework and I ended up doing half of it for him as I finished mine in like an hour and I didn't want us to starve to death.
Elissa, as expected, didn't cook anything. She ordered something in for her and Tom and didn't even look at Josh and me twice.
"Find a table, I'm gonna order." Josh told me and walked passed me heading towards the counter leaving me alone.
The second I didn't feel his presence around me I became aware of my surroundings.
Josh was like my comfort zone, as soon as he was gone I felt threatened. It sounded pathetic, I know, but he was the only one to be with me when no one else did - over the phone or not.
We had a bond and I could feel it even physically. I hoped he felt the same.I took a few light breaths calming myself down and walked around the restaurant looking for a free table.
When I finally found it I felt relief wash over me as I sat down at it.
That was until my eyes fell to a familiar face. And it was no other's then Abigail's.What the fuck? Why? Why the hell was this my luck?
Josh's gonna be uncomfortable the whole time and I couldn't say much different for me. I hated that girl's guts. Even more now after that conversation I had with Vegan.
When Josh came towards me I tried to ignore her presence hoping he's not gonna notice her, but not even 10 seconds after Josh sat down across me the bitch had to speak.
"Josh!" She yelled. "Hey, Josh! I knew you'd stalk me!" She laughed.
Josh froze.
I eyed him intensely.
"I'm gonna go change our order, you wait for me outside. We'll take the pizzas and eat home." He hissed getting up.
"Josh..." I said focusing on my voice staying soft. "We don't have to run."
"We're not." He crossed his arms on his chest.
"Then what is this?"
"Avoiding the situation." He explained and I rolled my eyes. "Come on, we have a house cinema, we can eat pizza there and watch movies. It'll be more fun than sitting here surrounded by people."
He had a point. Or he knew me well enough to know what to say to change my mind. Probably both.
"Okay." I gave in turning towards the exit as he hurried back to the counter.
I walked straight out into the night thinking about the Josh - Abigail situation, little did I know I'm gonna walk straight into Matt.
"Oh look who we have here." He said a smile spreading across his face. "Josh's little whore."
"Josh is my best friend." I hissed automatically.
"Yeah, and we all know he's that just because he wants to get in your pants." Matt smiled at me.
I looked around swallowing hard.
The Sun wa already down and there was no one around. This had to be planned. Abigail knew exactly what Josh's reaction's gonna be when he sees her and now he's gonna be stuck in there with her and I'm gonna be stuck outside with Matt.
She must've heard our conversation in the parking lot after school today.
I frowned.
I tried so hard that the words of Josh's 'friends' don't get to me, but hearing the same things over and over again from various people and never having the theories denied because you're too anxious to speak about it didn't really help tame my dark thoughts.
