Josh P.O.V

"And so he told you to follow your heart?" Max eyed me as I laid on the couch in his studio room. "And that destiny will bring you back together if it's meant to be?"

"Basically." I said.

"Wow, you guys are so cliche." Max scoffed.

"This is serious." I sat up. "I gotta find a way how to get him back. Doing what I love won't help. I only love him anyways."

"Jeez Josh listen to yourself a little." Max said. "You sound so desperate. As now Oli's friend too, I can tell you that he deserves that break from you."

"Not helping." I pointed out laying back down.

"Well, he told you to follow your heart. You should know what to do without me." Max shrugged.

"But I've been faking this character for so long that I don't even know which aspects are actually me and which I created to please the rules of popularity." I said finally putting what I was feeling into words. "I only knew exactly who I was with him."

"You sound pathetic." Max said. "No offense tho." He added.

"How would you feel if Vegan breaks up with you, like, now hm?" I shot him a glare.

"Don't compare my situation to yours." My friend said grabbing his guitar. "You were a shit boyfriend and I am a perfect one."

"How sympathetic." I rolled my eyes.

My feelings were currently all over the place but the spark of hope Oli planted into me was enough to keep me somewhat calm and rational towards all of this.

Also, as much as Max's honesty seemed harsh, it was exactly what I needed to keep my mind occupied.

Max was always the one to be most down to Earth out of all of us and I couldn't help but wonder what would all of this look like if he hasn't gone out of school for a whole semester because of his knee surgery.

Maybe in four months he'd knock enough sense into me and I'd end up telling Oli about everything before he found out about it from Abigail.

"How are you and Vegan though?" I asked.

Even though my love life was currently shit I was actually quite happy for Max. I was happy that he moved on from Dan and was now with a guy who obviously adored him.

"Great actually." Max said a spark of excitement lighting up his eyes. "He's so... amazing. Like, he just gets me you know?"

"You say I'm pathetic yet that sounded so Tumblr." I chuckled.

"Hey guys." Chris and Dan entered the room before Max could snap at me.

"Just in time for this cringe feat that is a broken hearted Josh." Max still found a way to roast me tho, oh well.

"Show some sympathy jeez." Chris said. "How would you feel if you and Vegan broke up like today?"

"Why do you all keep saying that." Max complained. "Josh fucked up, I am so good to Matt."

"Good in which aspect?" Chris laughed.

"Do you really wanna talk about my sex life because if you want, I mean, I can." Max raised his eyebrows at him in challenge.

"I'll pass." Chris chuckled. "But you should really be less of an asshole. Tune down the ego."

"Look who's talking." Max scoffed having an answer to everything as always. "And plus, Oli said that Josh just has to follow his heart and that if it's meant to be that destiny will bring them back together which basically means that Josh here just has to stop being an idiot and find a way to control his destiny."
