"Thanks, you know." I told Vegan while we stood at the front door of his house.

I ended up sleeping over at his because I was a coward and I couldn't deal with Josh yesterday.

"I'm not really sure if I deserve a thank you." Vegan clicked his tongue. "I've been quite brutal with you."

It was true. Vegan was extremely brutally honest with me, but that's what I appreciated the most about him. I didn't need someone to sugarcoat things for me, people have been sugarcoating things to me for far too long and it didn't really result well.

"Well, thanks." I smiled at him.

Vegan rolled his eyes. "Just use protection." He smile back.

"Shut up!" I yelled as I walked out of his yard leaving him laughing behind me.

I didn't even make it out of his street before I got the urge to hear Josh's voice.

It was unbelievable how connected we were... Perhaps it wasn't even that surprising I developed feelings on a whole another level for him.

And the thought that he might like me back made my heart skip a beat.

I pulled out my phone calling my best friend. I just had to.

"Oli?" He picked up right away. "Are you okay? Where are you?" He sounded worried, a bit shocked and panicked even.

"I'm fine." I said. "I... I just wanted to say I'm sorry." I said

"What?" Josh breathed out. He seemed so out of it. "No... No, no, no... It's not your fault. I am sorry."

"You sound nervous." I chuckled.

"That's because I am." He told me. "I like you Oli. Dammit, I like you!"

I could hear him sigh in the background as he practically screamed the words.

I on the other hand stopped dead in my tracks.

There it was - that feeling again. Like I couldn't breath, like my heart ran in circles inside my chest, like someone pulled away the ground beneath my feet and now I was falling.

"I..." But I couldn't say it back. Not like this. "I'm coming home." I just said and hung up.

I tried to maintain my calm walk, but I ended up running off home as my mind loaded with thoughts of Josh changing his mind before I got to him.

I ran into our house rushing through the kitchen and upstairs not caring who's watching.

I stopped to catch my breath just when I was before Josh's door. I wondered should I knock or call his name or just let myself in.

Fuck, since when was I even contemplating these things?

"Oli..." Before I could do any of them though, my brother called out my name.

I just stared at him while he climbed the stairs heading towards me.

"We're decorating the Christmas tree." He said. "Mom wants you to help."

"Can't that wait a second?" I was practically on the edge of my seat.

I needed to talk to Josh and I needed to do it now.

"Wouldn't say. I mean, you know the moms an their traditions." Tom told me. "Plus, you slept over at Vegan's and didn't even say hello when you came back. She's gonna be pissed."
