I woke up startled. My heart was pounding and I couldn't breath. The darkness that had started to be my only friend was pressing all around me.
Instead of oxygen filling my lungs the void of nothingness did.
I scratched at my throat opening my mouth like a fish out of water.
I let out a strangled sound as my body shriveled.
It was so dark I couldn't even identify where I was. I could only guess I was back in my own personal hell.
I left that place 2 years ago why am I still having nightmares and dreams about it?
How am I still alive? I haven't been able to breath for about a minute now. My insides where burning from the lack of oxygen.
All of a sudden the air was back. Just like that. I breathed in greedily. I huffed and puffed as I looked at the hard, cold, damp floor under my bare feet.
I didn't get to rest much because my skin started to burn. The air around me wasn't hot in fact, it was cold. It was like my blood was boiling underneath my skin.
Then my skin started to tear and rip. My blood spilled out and rushed down my once smooth dark brown skin. Blood splattered on the ground as I screamed from the pain.
It felt like a demons claws had ripped my skin open. More gashes split my skin apart. There was a nasty one that appeared on the side of my stomach that had me hunched over, wheezing for air.
I looked at my hands that were covered in cuts and blood. All I could think about was why this was happening to me.
Out of everyone in the world, it had to have been me.
I sat up straight on my bed. Sweat was dripping down my face, as I checked my body for any cuts. I wasn't surprised when I found my hands were dripping with my blood.
I couldn't feel anything though. Thank God for adrenaline, or I would have been screaming my head off.
I rushed to the bathroom attached to my room and quickly turned on the light. My reflection frightened me so much I let out a loud gasp.
The clothes that I had been wearing were reduced to bloodied rags. My neck was dripping from fresh wounds.
Did I do that?
I tried not to freak out when I reasoned with myself that the wounds would heal fast.
There was a knock on my bedroom door. I creaked the bathroom door popping my head out.
"Y-Yes?" I stuttered.
"I heard you walking around so I wanted to check on you. Can I come in?" Gage asked.
"Um. I'm fine." I said.
"I still want to come in and just check." He replied.
"But I'm telling you right now that I'm fine. So there's no need." I said sighing.
"Look I wanted to be polite and knock but I'll bust into this room if I have too." He threatened.
"You don't have too, because it's unlocked but I'm telling you not to come in. So please don't." I reasoned. I popped my head back in the bathroom and locked it. Knowing full well that Gage would be in the bedroom at any minute.
Like I guessed, Gage didn't hesitate as he walked into the guest room. He walked around until he stopped in front of the bathroom door. "Open up." He ordered.
"Why are you making such a big deal out of this?" I asked wishing that my wounds would heal faster. In the meanwhile I cleaned off as much blood as possible. I had lost a lot, and felt a bit dizzy.
