After a grand tour of the house everyone settled down in the living room to chit chat.

"So have you found a new job yet?" My mom asked.

"Job?" I looked up at her. I was currently playing with blocks and trains with Eli. "I completely forgot about looking for a job. Been busy I guess."

"Doing what?" My mom pried.

I looked at her with a crazed look.

"Mom don't be coy you know what Naomi's been busy doing." Mae said with a dumb look on her face.

My sister had no shame. My father, Ray, Eli, and not to mention Gage were all in the room.

I felt like everyone leaned in to hear my response. I could already imagine Gage's amused face.

"I was busy settling in." I stated trying hard to keep heat from rising to my face.

"For a whole week?" Mae asked licking her lips and biting it.

I picked up a wooden block and threw it at her head. With amazing speed she caught it before it touched her pretty little face.

"So you haven't been riding anything lately? Like ponies or maybe a wolf?" Mae asked playing with the wooden block.

I looked at her and realized she only wanted to embarrass me.

"What about you? You're used to riding things right?"

"Touché."

I rolled my eyes at her and paid no mind to her. Eli had my full attention by than so I had no idea what the conversation was around me.

"Naomi, did you hear? Your mother and I are going out to get some ingredients to make lunch with. We'll be back in a few." My dad said standing up from the couch.

"I'm sure whatever you need we have in the kitchen dad. In fact I'm sure of it." I said.

He looked at me as if he didn't believe it. "I guess you're right Luna!" My dad said jokingly.

I smiled as he led my mother to the kitchen to prepare lunch.

Leaving the rest of us by ourselves.

"So how long are you guys planning to stay?" I asked getting up from the floor to sit next to Gage on the couch.

"We'll be leaving 3 days from now, Tuesday afternoon." Mae said laying down so her head was in Ray's lap. "Have you made any new friends here?"

"Just one." I answered.

"Loner." She said snickering.

I flipped her the bird and she laughed harder.

"Sissy look what I made!" Eli shouted for my attention.

"Wow, Eli that's amazing!" I said. He had built a tower made out of blocks with superheroes at its base. It was a simple structure but he was a kid so I had to make it seem like he created something better than the Mona Lisa.

"But seriously have you guys been fucking?" Mae asked without censoring her words.

"Jesus Mae!" I said shaking my head. I got up and picked up Eli and walked away from my sisters constant profanities.

Eventually, I put Eli down and held his hand as we walked to the back porch.

"Sissy? Why don't you live at home anymore?" Eli asked looking up at me.

Hearing him say those words broke my heart. "I'm so sorry Eli. I didn't have a choice, I was forced. But I'll make sure to visit you as often as I can! I promise!" I said cheerfully.
