Gage's P.O.V
After a long day of meetings I entered a house that smelled like baked goods.

I put my briefcase on the floor and following my nose I found myself in the kitchen where Naomi was icing a cake. She was so concentrated on what she was doing she didn't notice me at first.

"Hey." I said breaking her focus.

She gave me an uneasy smile and returned her gaze to her cake.

"What's all this?" I asked waving my hand over all cookies and pots that held smells that made my mouth water.

She didn't answer me so I picked up a cookie and took a bite.

My eyes teared up from joy just from one bite of these delicious cookies. "Holy shit. What did you put in these?"

She just looked at me and smirked.

I took the platter of chocolate chip cookies and sat down at the island. Every bite I took out of those heavenly cookies I had an out of body experience.

I noticed Naomi was fidgeting. She was nervous about something. Before I could ask her what was wrong she answered my question.

"When I was released from Alpha Hades 2 years ago, I baked pastries until the cookies materials I used had worn out. Which was a span of two days." She said turning around to face me.

Listening to her I gathered that she cooked excessively like this when her feeling got too much for her. She was hurting right now and I will do anything to take her pain away.

She had vanilla icing smearing on cheek but I don't think she noticed. Her eyes were cloudy with emotion and she was trembling ever so slightly.

I put my cookie down and got up and approached her. I lifted my hand and wiped away the icing from her face. "Tell me how you're feeling."

"At first I felt hurt. Then angry. Then useless." She admitted.

My heart ached and I felt terrible for making her feel this way. I felt my wolf turn his back on me.

"Naomi." I whispered. "I'm so sorry. I don't know if you'll ever forgive me but I really do regret what I did. And I'm sorry for snapping at you and pinning you against the wall. Handling you like that was a disgusting thing to do and I won't do it again." I apologized sincerely.

"Don't apologize. I over reacted. What you did was in the past, and I shouldn't have worried about it. And you didn't 'handle' me. You didn't hurt me at all. You never have, and you never will. I'm sorry for not realizing that earlier." She said smiling appreciatively at me.

"You had every right to react that way. I should have waited and saved myself for you." I said defeatedly.

She smiled ever so slightly and dipped her finger in the chocolate icing behind her. With a big portion on her finger and she wiped it on my face. Her face broke into a beautiful smile and somehow everything was okay.

I smiled back and wiped icing on her cheek as well, making sure that her cheek was covered in icing.

She gasped and grabbed some cake and threw it at me. She laughed manically and ran away from me.

My wolf enjoyed this game she was playing and my heart beat quickened with anticipation of where this could lead to. I grabbed a pice of pie and went looking for her.

My smile widened every step I got closer to her. She turned her head to me and got a face full of pie and she laughed spitting pieces of pie out of her mouth. I grabbed her body against mine and made sure she was restrained. "Give up?" I asked.
