Chapter 10

We won!! We beat Summit Stem! We're the first team to be able to beat them this year, and guess what? I got the winning score. I got us two more points than Summit. If I hadn't then we would've lost.

The team carries me on their shoulders and we all cheer as they take our picture. "Well done team. You all did awesome today. Now, let's head to Sweet CeCe's for ice cream. It's on me." Coach Chester says. We all go to the parking lot.

"April! Hold on!" I hear from behind Theo and I as we climb onto my motorcycle. I turn around and mom's there.

"Hey mom!" I say cheerfully. I climb off the motorcycle and give her a hug. Then dad and then Uncle Matt.

"You make me proud." Uncle Matt whispers in my ear. I hold back tears and hug him tighter. He hugs me back.

"Coach Chester is buying us ice cream at Sweet CeCe's. I'll be home after I drop Theo off." I tell them before I clamber back onto my motorcycle.

"Okay. Don't be gone too long because we have a surprise for you later." Mom tells me.

"Okay. See you later. Ready Theo?"

"Ready as I'll ever be. Just don't get us killed."

"Theo I've promised you we won't get killed. I never promised that I wouldn't have fun." I say smirking. Then before he could respond I cranked up the engine and shot out out of the parking lot. I hear him yell but I just laugh to myself and keep on driving.

I finally come to a stop at Sweet CeCe's. We get off the motorcycle and put our helmets with our bags in the compartment under the seat. Then we walk inside too shouts and cheers. I pump my fist into the air and then I grab an ice cream cup.

I go over to where the ice cream is and fill my cup with Cupcake Batter. Then I go over to the toppings and put M&M's, skittles, chocolate chips, cookie cone, sprinkles, hot fudge, and mini marshmallows. Yum!

Once I weigh it I sit at a table with a spoon and start eating. It's so good... Theo sits down next to me and Hunter sits on the other side. We all attack our ice cream in silence.

Theo leans back and says, "Man, this ice cream is so good. I love eating here." Hunter nods in agreement. "You got that right. My parents take April and me here almost every saturday."

"That's nice." Theo says staring at Hunter. Is it just me or is there a jealous look on his face?

"Hey, you both did awesome at the game today." I exclaim. They both nod their heads and say at the same time, "But you were amazing April." they look at each other and I erupt into laughter. I'm laughing so hard I can't breathe! "Oh my goodness." I manage to say before I start laughing again. Theo and Hunter both smile as I throw a laughing fit.

I finally manage to calm down. "Ok, ok, I think I'm good now." I eat the rest of my ice cream and sigh. "Theo we should go now. Are you done?" I ask looking over at him.

"Yeah I'm done. Let's go." Hunter looks up.

"Where are you two going I might ask?"

"I'm taking him home." I tell him standing up. I take my trash over to the trashcan. When I turn around Theo is standing by the door waiting for me. He holds the door open for me and we walk out.

We strap the helmets on and then climb onto the motorcycle. Before I crank up the engine I see Hunter looking through the window. I wave at him and smile. He waves back without smiling and then I zoom out of the parking lot with Theo yelling.
