School is over so I rush to my locker and grab my book bag and drop off my textbooks. I rush out of the school before anyone can stop me. I put my bookbag in the compartment under the seat and grab a helmet. I strap it on and then I drive out of the parking lot.

The academy isn't too far off but it's still far from the school. I sigh. I'll miss going to baseball practice but I might have to take up Coach Chester on his offer. I'll have to talk with mom and dad before but that would be nice. I'll still go cheer at the games. Maybe the academy has a baseball team or something. That would be wonderful.

I pull into the parking lot in front of a big building. I check the address on my phone to make sure I'm at the right place. Then I put my helmet away and stuff the keys into my pocket.

I walk inside to what I guess is the lobby. I go up to the desk and ring a bell on the counter. All of a sudden a woman appears. "Hello may I help you?" She asks in a cheery voice.

"Yum... Yes. I'm April Roberts. New student."

"Oh yes. We've been expecting you. Hold on." She types a few things on a laptop and then she looks back at me.

"If you would follow me this way." She gets up and starts walking down a hallway. I follow her not knowing where she's going. "Oh I forgot to introduce myself. My name's Penni. I am the secretary here at Groves Academy."

Ok so the school is called Groves. I like that name. I look around. The hallways look normal. Penni walks up to a door and knocks three times. The door opens and she motions me inside. "We just need you to fill out some paperwork before we can get started. When you're done leave them on the table and then I'll come get you." She walks out of the room with the door closing behind her. I run to the door and turn the knob but it's locked. Great.

I look around the room and see a table and a chair. I sit down on the chair and see a pencil and loads of paper on the table. I sigh. I might as well get started. I pick up the pencil and start reading.

I finally finish the papers. I set the pencil down and stack the papers on the table. Then I wait for Penni to come back. I sigh as I look back over the first few questions. I wonder why they need to even know that stuff. I mean, what's you're favorite color? How's that supposed to help them?

The door opens and Penni walks in. "Are you finished? Wonderful. Follow me." She walks back out of the room and I hurry to follow her.

Penni walks down another hallway behind the front desk. She stops in front of another door and knocks two times. It opens and she motions for me to enter. I walk in and notice a big desk with lots of papers right away. Behind the desk a man sits looking at one of the many papers.

The man looks up just as Penni closes the door and walks back to the front desk. His face breaks out in a grin. "Why hello April. I've been wondering when I would have another Roberts here at the academy. I'm the headmaster but you can call me Professor James." Professor James gets up and walks around to where I'm standing and holds out his hand to shake. I take his hand and then he motions for me to sit down. He walks back to his chair and sits also.

"So April, you must know about your superpowers to be here right?" He looks at me and I nod my head.

"Good, good. Right now we're going to plan out your classes. I know you've started in the middle of the year but don't worry. You'll be caught up in no time. The Roberts were always fast learners." Professor James pulls out a few papers from here and there on his desk and hands them to me. I take them and look through them.

"These are different classes April. Let's start planning out the ones you want to take."

I look through the papers again and start making a mental note on the ones I want to take. P.E, Science, Art, Yoga, History, Power Control.

I tell Professor James the classes I want to take and he writes them down. "Those are all good classes. You will also have a free period. You may do anything during that time except leave the building." I nod my head as he writes a few more things down.

When he's done he walks me to the door. "Any questions?" He asks as he opens the door for me. I nod my head. "Do you have sports teams? Like baseball?"' I ask. This question has been bothering me like crazy. He shakes his head. My hopes crash like an out of control airplane that can't get back in the air." He closes his office door and I walk back down the hallway.

Penni smiles at me and presses a button that opens the front doors for me. I wave at her and she waves back. Then I walk out to my motorcycle and strap my helmet on. Then I drive home. I can't wait until tomorrow even though there's no baseball.
