Chapter 19

After school I wait by my locker for Theo to show up. When he does we head out to my motorcycle and put on the helmets. Then I pull out of the parking lot and start driving towards the academy.

When we get there I park and we put our helmets in the compartment under the seat. We take our book bags with us. We walk through the front office and I give Penni a big smile. She smiles back at me and we wave at each other. Penni's really nice. Out of all the people here at the academy, she's my favorite.

Theo and I walk to our first class which is Art. I love art. I like to be creative. I also like sports but everyone who knows me knows that. We keep on walking down the hallway to the classroom. Kids are going this way and that. I almost get separated from Theo as a kid who's bigger than me pushes past me, but Theo grabs my hand and pulls me towards the wall of the hallway where there aren't as much people.

I smile at him and tell him thank you. He shrugs it off like it was nothing. Then we finally get to the art classroom.

We walk in and sit in the back of the classroom as Mrs. Wash walks in and shuts the door behind her. She walks to the front of the class and turns to face us. "Hello class. Today we are starting a new project. But, before we do there is a sickness going around and we need to give you all injections. Headmaster's orders. So everyone please line up along the wall."

Everyone gets up and walks to the wall. I wonder why we need an injection. Can this sickness harm us? Could it endanger us somehow? Mrs. Wash walks down the line of students holding a box. In the box are lots of needles for every student in the class. When she gets to me I start to breathe faster. I don't really like needles. She looks at me and smiles smugly and then she injects me with the needle and the stuff inside it. I shiver even though it's not cold. Theo puts an arm around me as Mrs. Wash moves on to the next person.

Once everyone had been injected with the serum we all went back to our seats. As we were all seated Mrs. Wash began to speak again. "As I was saying earlier, we are starting a new project today. You will be given the following supplies. Canvas and crayons. You must come up with something. This will be a huge part on your grade. Also it is a group project. Find a partner. One partner. Not two thank you. This is also a contest. The one with the best project will have it presented to the headmaster and then after that, if he approves, it will be hung up on the great wall."

The great wall was where all of the great items created by students were made. I've never had anything great enough to have it hung on the great wall. So I'm really looking forward to this. I look at Theo and raise my eyebrows asking if he wants to be my partner. He nods his head and we face forward as Mrs. Wash continues on talking. At the end of class we're given our supplies and we leave class. I can't wait to get started on it.
