Chapter 16

The teacher walks in and waits for everyone to become silent. "Thank you. To our new students, you may call me Professor LJ. Now let's begin." He walks over to his desk and sits down. "You will want to take notes."

Everybody pulled out some sort of journal. I opened my book bag and pulled out a notebook. I looked over at Theo and he pulled out a notebook also. I open my pencil pouch and take out a pencil. I see that Theo doesn't have one so I pull out another one for him. He silently says thank you and I wink at him.

Professor LJ gets up and starts talking so I write down everything that he says not wanting to miss anything.

History; Professor LJ

A long time ago our ancestors were granted superpowers for helping the witches complete a special potion that would save their king

The king was pleased and granted them a wish; they wished for superpowers

The king told them they could have superpowers but there would be a setback. Not every generation would have them. Only a select few were deemed responsible and trustworthy

those who had the super powers wielded great responsibility

some turned evil and used their powers evilly

those who were evil and with super powers were hunted down and killed but a small amount escaped

the evil people still walk the earth wanting to hunt down the good

Professor LJ jumped when the bell rang. He dismissed us and we all exited the classroom. "That was an interesting class." I say to Theo. He nods his head. "You've been quiet. What's on your mind?" I ask as we head to our next class, Science. He shakes his head. "Nothing. I'm fine. Just nervous I guess." He says rubbing his hand down his face.

"Aren't we all." I giggle. He looks at me and smiles. Then he reaches down and grabs my hand. Normally I would shy away from being touched but I grip his hand back. We look at each other and smile. I'm really happy that Theo is my friend.
