Chapter 15

After school I go to my locker and grab my book bag and drop off my binders. I turn around and walk down the hallway towards Theo's locker. I have to know why he quit the team. Is he like me? Does he have super powers? Does he have health problems? Is he moving? Any of these could be true and at the same time there could be another reason.

I see him locking his locker and about to leave so I run up. This will have to be quick because I can't be late to the academy on my first day. "Theo? Hey wait up." I call when I see him about to run out of the school. He turns around and smiles. "Hey April. What do you need?"

"Hunter told me you quit the team. Why is that?" He looks nervous. Why?

"Oh well, you know when you told me you had superpowers and all and that you're going to an academy. Umm... I have superpowers to." This is a shock. Theo has superpowers? Wow.

"The academy I go to is Groves academy. Is that where you're going? I could give you a ride." He nods his head so we go to my motorcycle and put on our helmets. Then I start the engine and pull out of the parking lot.

I finally pull in at the academy and park. We get off and put our book bags and helmets in the compartment under the seat. Then we walk inside.

Penni sits at the front desk. I wave at her and smile. She waves back. "Hello April, and who is this?"

"This is Theo. New student." Penni nods and types some things on the computer. Then she looks back up and asks, "Theo James?" Theo nods his head and Penni types something else on her computer then she gets up and motions for Theo to follow her. He looks hesitant. I nudge him. "Theo it's ok. You just have to fill out some papers and then you meet with the headmaster to sign up for your classes. It's fine. I'll wait here for you." The nods his head and follows Penni.

I sit down in a chair and pull out a book to read while I wait for Theo. Penni comes back and sits back at the front desk. "Is Theo your friend?" She asks me. I nod my head.

"We go to school together and we were both on the baseball team there." Penni nods her head and types some things on her computer. She gets up and walks back down the hallway to get Theo. Then she takes him to the headmasters office. I smile at him and he smiles back. I wait for another few minutes before Theo comes back out. When he does Penni shows us where to go for our classes. Once we leave the front office and into a hallway. There's kids everywhere.

I take Theo's schedule from his hand and look at it. We have the same classes. Yay! "Theo we have the same classes." I exclaim to him.

"That's good. What's our first class?" He asks. I look down at my schedule. "History."

We make our way to the right classroom. Once we get there we walk in and sit in two empty seats in the back of the classroom. Then we wait for the class to start.
