Chapter 2: The Kiss

As I waited for JC, I couldn't help but cry more. Mitchell used to be my everything but he didn't care. He threw it all away just to have sex with someone. And that someone just so happened to be my best friend and Trevor's girlfriend. I thought about how upset Trevor was going to be when he heard about it. That made me cry more.

I was deep into thought when I heard a car pulling up. I slowly looked up and saw JC standing there. He helped me to my feet and embraced me in a hug.

"I'm sorry for not listening to you J. I thought that you were wrong about a guy for once. Turns out, you know who's good for me and who's not." I cried into his chest.

"It's alright Jay. Everybody makes mistakes. I'm just glad you guys didn't have sex yet."

"Yeah me too. That would've hurt me even more."

"Come on. Let's get you home." he said as he helped me into the car As we drove away, I noticed we were driving farther away from our house.

"Um JC, our house is back that way."

"I know. but I told Sam and Connor that I was going to the store so they wouldn't want to come with me to get you."

"Okay. Thanks. I don't think I could've handled all their questions."

"That's what I kind of figured." he said as we pulled up to Wal-Mart. We got out and went shopping. After we finished shopping, it looked as if we bought over half the store. I was okay with that too.

The ride home was filled with us singing songs that were on my phone.We sang as loud as possible to Trevor's song The Dark Side. As we were singing, my phone began to go off. Its ringtone filling the car entirely.

In my American Apparel

I quickly answered it but I started to hear a voice that I didn't want to hear.

Jaycee

Mitchell

Hello?

Hey babe.

Mitchell, stop it. We're over. You cheated

It was honestly a mistake. Please let me explain.

No. The mistake was dating you. I'm done. Goodbye!

I hung up the phone and JC gave me a weird look.

"What?"

"I'm just proud of you." he smiled as we pulled into our driveway. The other boys all walked out and helped us bring in the stuff we bought. After everything was put away , the boys all turned towards me.

"What's for dinner?" they asked in unison.

"Well I was thinking we could eat out tonight. To celebrate." I said.

"Why celebrate?" Trevor asked.

"What are we celebrating?" Kian questioned. I looked at JC.

"You tell them bro." I told him. He nodded and opened his mouth.

"We're celebrating the fact that Jaycee is finally free from the mistake she's been making for the past few years."

"Oh. That makes sense." Connor smiled.

"Yeah. So everyone go get ready." I said and no one argued. They all went upstairs to their rooms and got ready while I went to mine and changed. I got out of my clothes and put on a new pair of ripped jean short shorts, my Pittsburgh Steelers tank top and a varsity jacket from my old school back in Texas. I quickly straightened my hair and went downstairs to wait for the boys. They were ready in 5 minutes and when they came down and saw me, they all stopped and stared. Everyone but JC of course.

~Sam's POV ~

We all got ready and went downstairs. When I stepped off the stairs, I stopped in my tracks and looked at what Jaycee was wearing. She looked so perfect right now and I just couldn't stop staring. Moments later, she waved her hands and snapped her fingers in all of our faces.

"Ready to go?" she asked us.We all nodded eagerly and walked outside. I still wasn't sure what we were celebrating but it was worth it to not know. We all got into the van and Jaycee sat between Connor and JC in the back seat. I sat with Trevor in the middle seat while Kian sat in the passenger seat and Ricky drove.

*skip the meal*

~Jaycee's POV~

We had an amazing time and I was really glad I ever met them. They were all perfect. I'm glad my brother was talented, funny and apparently attractive. If he wasn't then he wouldn't have a YouTube career and he wouldn't have met these boys.

As we pulled up to the house, Connor asked if we could take a little walk. Of course I said yes. No one could say no to his face when he uses the puppy dog eyes. It was too cute.

~Connor's POV ~

When we got home, I asked Jaycee to go for a walk with me. At the restaurant, she looked pretty upset so I needed to know why we had celebrated earlier. Luckily, she said yes and we began to walk and talk.

We walked and talked about things. Suddenly, we reached our secret spot and I stopped her.

"Why'd we stop?" she calmly asked.

"What did we go celebrating for?"

"Um..."

"Jaycee Marie Caylen, please tell me. It looks like it's been upsetting you all night."

"Fine. Well when you dropped me off at Mitchell's house earlier, I let myself in. I couldn't find him anywhere so the last place I checked was his room. I walked in and that's when I saw him having sex with..." her eyes filled with tears. She looked like she didn't think she could continue. I put my hand on top of hers and gently squeezed it, encouraging her to go on. So she did. "Abby. My best friend and Trevor's girlfriend. So I dumped him. Turns out all you guys were right about him. I made that mistake for 3 and a half years. I feel so stupid." She finished, wiping away a few tears.

"Jay, you're far from stupid. You were just in love and love is blind.  Trust me. I know. But yeah. You're not stupid. You're smart, kind, funny, sweet, adorable and everything a guy could possibly want. I hate seeing you hurt. You deserve so much better then him. And I know that you will find him one day. Any guy would be lucky to be with you. He would have to be very stupid to pass all this up. You're the definition of perfect in my dictionary."

"Thanks Con. You're really sweet."

"No problem doll face. I'm always gonna be here for you." I embraced her in a hug while she cried into my shoulder. I slowly pulled back from the hug and lifted her chin so our eyes could connect. And slowly but surely, I felt both of us leaning closer until the one thing I had hoped would happen soon, finally happened.

We finally kissed.
