She's Broken

Katie's POV

A day. That's all I allowed myself to cry for. I'm not going to be the girl who cried, I will be the princess who stayed strong. Loki has been gone for a day on Earth, probably ruining my friendship with the Avengers.

Frigga had new dresses made to fit my skinny figure, and I only wear black ones, as if I'm in mourning. Black cloak, black dress, black flats, silver crown atop my ever whitening hair. I even had black gloves made. And I've taken to being very silent, roaming the corridors like a ghost. I write letters and poems to no one in particular.

"Katie, darling, Thor has something to tell you," Frigga says to my bedroom door. I glide over and silently open it, following her to Thor.

"I am returning to Midgard to recover Loki and-" he begins, but Frigga cuts him off.

"And what?" I ask, my voice quiet, and my posture straight and tall.

"The Tesseract. Is there anything you would like me to tell him?" Thor says. I feel tears stinging my eyes, but I hold them in. I shake my head no, playing with the ring on my gloved hand. Thor nods, and Odin and he summon black magic. I watch as Thor teleports away. Then I soundlessly stalk off to the library, hoping to drown my thoughts in a book.

Earth- Third Person

"What's a matter? You afraid of a little thunder?" Steve smirks.

"I think we both know I'm not overly fond of what follows," Loki states. A slamming sound interrupts them and Thor walks in, picks Loki up, and flies out. Tony pulls on his mask and flies out after them. Steve reaches for a parachute, but Nat stops him.

"Steve, you know better. They are basically-" she gets cut off.

"There's only one God, and we both know I've got a real quarrel with one of those brothers!" Steve says, jumping out.

"Loki, where is the Tesseract?" Thor roars in Loki's face.

"I'm fine, yes, thanks!" Loki smirks. Thor frowns at him. "They've taken it I know not where."

"Brother, you left her! Do you realize how broken she is? She has stopped eating because of your mischievous actions!" Thor yells, tossing Loki off the cliff into the forest. Steve and Tony land next to him, listening intently. Loki's face is expressionless.

"She cannot control herself, she freezes everything without even changing her skin! And you have the audacity to fly off in the middle of the night to take the place she loves!" Thor spits. Tony raises an eyebrow.

"Look, buddy, If you hurt her, I swear I will beat the living daylights out of your worthless body!" Tony growls.

Loki smirks at him. "Worthless mortal, you think you can touch me-" Steve walks up and slams his shield down hard on Loki.

"Every single one of us now has a problem with you. If she gets hurt, you'll die fast," Steve hisses. Thor picks up Loki, and they all go to the Helicarrier.
