Katie's POV

Frigga smiles at me, happy, motherly light glowing in her bright eyes.

"You are a beautiful girl," she says, squeezing my hand. "And a beautiful queen."

I smile and thank her, mentally laughing as she checks over Loki, slicking back his hair, polishing his armor, and adjusting his helmet.

"Oh, you are going to be a king!" she squeals, kissing his cheek.

Good riddance to Odin, Loki thinks to me.

And such a sadness to see Frigga off, I think back. He nods. Frigga picks up my gold crown and nestles it on my now golden hair. She smoothes my dress, touches up my hair, and kisses my cheek before sighing of relief.

"It will be good to be just a mother," she says with relief. And grandmother of Janey and... well, I will tell her later. It makes me happy to see the peace on Frigga's face after all I have put her through. Simple things like her smile and Loki's cool hand in mine are like paradise to me in a world of show and queenliness. I can hear the roar of the jubilant crowd just outside the door. It's Coronation Day.

Apparently, having a coronation requires a week long festival in our honor and a short but very large ceremony. The palace has been teeming with guests all the way from the edges of the Nine Realms. Luckily, I have Loki and my small, hidden away palace to escape to when the prying questions and fawning get to be too much.

"Smiles on," Frigga commands with an airy tone to her voice. I straighten my back and smile, not letting go of Loki's strong hand as I walk out in front of the entire population of Asgard, as well as some other realms.

We smile and wave to the people until Odin stands amd silences the crowd with a tap of his staff.

"Thank you all for gracing us with your presence at this coronation ceremony. We are gathered here to see Queen Katie and King Loki Laufeyson to the throne of Asgard with respect and support.

Loki, do you swear to respect and protect the people of the Nine Realms with your life?"

"I swear," Loki answers.

"Do you swear to never abuse your powers that you assume along with the throne?"

"I swear."

"Do you swear to respect Katie as your queen and wife, and take into consideration the queen's suggestions and concerns?"

Loki looks at me, passion in his eyes, and nearly yells, "I swear!"

"Good. Now Katie, do you swear to comfort and protect the people of the Nine Realms with all power vested in you?"

"I swear," my voice rings with newfound confidence from the fire burning inside me.

"Do you swear to respect your abilities that you possess along with new ones assumed with the throne of Asgard?"

"I swear."

"Do you swear, Katie, to respect Loki as your husband and king of Asgard, and keep him within reason as to your abilities?"

I smile at Loki. "I swear on my life."

The crowd cheers as Odin hands Loki the staff of the king.

The crowd cheers louder when Odin places the ceremonial golden queen's necklace around my neck.

The people continue to cheer until Odin announces the feast that will take place, at which, they all leave to the feast.

Loki, Frigga, and I dissappear into the empty throne room, while Odin goes off to the feast.

Frigga encases us in warm hugs. "My little boy is a king now!"

"Thank you mother, now, Katie has something to tell you," Loki says, grasping my hand.

All the pent-up excitement rushes out of me like a deflated balloon.

"Frigga, I am happy to tell you that I am expecting!"

"A boy or a girl?" she smiles, nearly exploding with joy. She grabs my hands, almost pushing Loki away, causing him to smirk at her.

"A little girl," I whisper, watching joyful tears well up in her happy eyes. She hugs me tightly, making me realize that her one true joy is being a motherly figure.

"Oh, Katie, congratulations! I am so happy and proud! Two little girls, what angels they will be. Boys are such terrors anyway," she almost shrieks, smirking at Loki, who raises an eyebrow at her. Frigga seems peaceful and finally at balance since I've been here. It seems that children are her favorite, allowing her to teach and play to her heart's content.

Soon, she leaves to join the feast, leaving Loki and I alone in the throne room. Loki presses his lips against mine, running his hand through my hair.

"So, what's it like to be queen?" he whispers to me, smiling his trademark grin.

"It's passionate, with a side of greatness," I laugh. "Should we go join our feast? Most of the drunks will have left now."

"I think," he says, twirling me. "That we deserve a night full of dancing."

"Then let us dance," I smile, turning to imaginary music. Loki grins again, kissing me.
