Chapter 22: Tess- Laughter.

"Tess! Wake up! You have a visitor!" My mom called from downstairs.  I sat up and rubbed my eyes, It must be Ace, I thought.  I got changed and grabbed my things. Walking downstairs I saw Ace and my mother talking to each other. My father was sitting on the couch reading something.

"Morning." I said, stretching a bit.

"Good Morning." Ace said. "Ready to head out?"

"Totally." I replied. I said goodbye to my mom and my dad. Ace and I left my house, as soon as we did he let out a sigh of relief.  "What's wrong?" I asked.

"It's just something about your dad is making me feel uneasy. Sorry if that offends you."

"It's fine. He has been acting odd lately."  Ace gave me a small smile and we walked to the front gates. I guess King Rythian had alerted them about our mission because they opened the front gates without a word.

"So. Closest Kingdom to ours is the kingdom of Flight right?"  I asked as we walked out the gates.

"Yeah, that was Maia's partner right?"

"Yup, Alex if I remember correctly."

"It'll take about three, four days to get to the Kingdom of Blades if I remember correctly." Ace said.

"Great. It'll be cool to see everyone all together."  I replied with a smile. Hours into the trip things had started to get a bit boring. But, something came to mind, I smirked slightly and flicked my fingers towards Ace. A gust of wind came by and tickled his nose.  He sneezed and looked at me strangely.  "What?" I questioned.

"Did you just feel that breeze?" He asked.

"No, you must be going crazy." I said with a smile.  Ace rolled his eyes and I held back a laugh. Moments later a small ball of what appeared to be shadows started to float around my head. My eyes widened and I swatted it with one of my hands. It disappeared for a moment but came right back. I swatted it once more and looked over at Ace. You could tell he was holding in a laugh by the look on his face. I frowned and he started to laugh. The ball disappeared and I sighed. "Seriously?!" I exclaimed.

"You really thought that I didn't know that was you before?" He said in between laughter.

"I'm not going to answer that question!" I said with a smile.

"Oh come on, we both know the answer." He replied casually. I crossed my arms and shook my head.

"Nope!"  Ace started to poke me and I kept giggling. "Stop it!" I said in between giggles.

"Nope! Not until you tell me!" He kept poking me and I started to laugh instead of giggling.

"Fine! Fine, I'll tell you! Just stop." I said in-between laughing. Ace stopped and smiled.

"So, what's that answer?"

"Fine, I didn't think you knew it was going to be me. It is quite breezy out here."

"True." Ace looked off into the distance and I think he saw something.

"What is it?" I asked.

"There is somebody up ahead. Maybe Alex and Maia?" I looked to where he was talking about, there were two bodies up there, but they looked like they were slowing down for the fast approaching night.

"Yeah, it looks like them. If I remember correctly Alex is an owl trainer, and look what is circling in the air above them."  

"Looks like it. You good with traveling through the night?"

"I'm up for it. Let's just hope we don't get attacked."

 A/N: And another chapter is done! Next we head back on over to Lilac and Aerith, but wasn't thier someone behind them? Or something..... I've been Vicerry, take care guys!
