Chapter 41: Kade- Chosen One
Silence.
Amidst all the noise, the confusion, I couldn’t hear a thing.
I saw my friends, my family almost, fighting against the Umbra (Before it disappeared due to the blue warrior of course).
The giant blue warrior didn’t even faze me, what did though was surprising.
It was Honour.
“Kade? Kade! Listen to me!” She yelled. She gripped my shoulders and began to shake me.
That’s what snapped me out of it.
“Wait, what’s going on?” I asked.
“What’s going on is that the Umbra is gone, Kim’s on our side, and the trio is coming out to get us! If I know my lore, which I do. These guys caused so much trouble, the war took years.” Honour said.
“If the war took years, then how do you expect us to defeat these guys now?” I questioned, I was terrified. I honestly just wanted to go back home and talk to the King. Build something, just anything not to be here. I was the youngest one here (Or at least I think) and honestly, a thirteen year old should not be doing something like this.
“With that,” Honour said pointing to my sword’s sheathe. “every single one of you, the chosen ones, were given these objects for a reason.”
“Yeah, so that people would recognise us and stuff.”
Honour scoffed. “Not exactly, that was some lie Aleria made up.”
There was a moan, and two cheers of happiness. It was Bryn, he was safe and healthy. But I was fairly sure his magic was drained.
“Dimensiva peregrinatores, tempus.” Nicolette said. I had no clue what it meant considering only the mages had to learn that language. I think I heard it was an old language called Latin or something?
“Sit sane opus est facere ieiunare.” Moss said, it sounded like in agreement. But, even though she was almost halfway across the room, her voice carried throughout the room. Ace whispered something to Tess and she nodded. In not even a second, everyone was moved to the middle of the room. The air in the room pushing us to the center. Tess’ work no doubt.
“Deinde circa quinque minutes ad Kim. Et erunt capientes eos qui, ut quamdiu hic.” Nicolette said, coming out of nowhere, Kim by her side. Kim nodded, but she looked a little freaked out. Shock I guess? Thankfully Alex was beside me, one of the only people who couldn’t understand this, including Lilac.
“What the heck is going on?!” I whispered.
“No freaking clue.” He replied. I looked over at Lilac and mouthed the same thing to her. She shrugged her shoulders and I sighed. It seemed like everyone in this freaking circle understood what was going on except for us.
“Hello Kade, Alex, Lilac. Do not fear, it is I, Aleria. Please, stay normal and do not allow the others to sense a change in your well being.” A random voice said popping into my head. Much like Nicolette. I knew it was Aleria the minute she began talking, her voice was like that, recognisable. Alex looked at me, panic was evident in his eyes but I gave him a warm smile and it calmed him down a bit.
“I know you will not be able to understand what the chosen are saying. But trust me it is good.” Aleria said calmly. “Be safe.”
I saw Moss walk over to me, as did the other representatives did to their chosen ones.
“Moss,” I said, “what’s going on?”
