Chapter 32: Bryn- Embarrassment

Chapter 32: Bryn- Embarrassment.

Dam, what happened last night?  I opened my eyes to find myself in a cage, suspended above the floor like I was a bird or something.  The room was pretty basic, gray walls, white floor, and a simple window and door. Both on opposite sides of the room. Well, guess I’d better get out of here. Who knows what happened to the others. I gripped the bars of the cage and tried to freeze them. The ice came out of my hands, but it didn’t freeze the bars.  Confused, I tried to do it again. But I got the same result. 

“What the hell!?” I said.  Ugh, looks like I’m stuck in here till someone gets me out. But, who exactly was that last night?

Out of the six that were taken last night, only Bryn managed to get a glimpse of their captor’s face. What Bryn remembered was faint, he knew that it was defiantly a man.  One thing he knew for sure was the man had a mustache.

I heard the door open, sunlight came with it. I tried to get a closer look at the person opening the door. But it seemed like I had to wait for the person to come fully inside. I sighed, and slumped into my cage. Great, if these are the towers we were talking about earlier, then I bet that’s Nicolette.  But at the same time, it might not be.  

“Nicolette?” I called out. Sure enough, Nicolette walked in, one of her throwing knives in her hand. “So uh, I’m kind of trapped in this cage and all. Could you, um, kind of get me out of here?” Nicolette nodded and began to look around for something to let me out, without hurting me and all.  If she just cut down the metal rings, if she could that is, then I would just fall to the ground. And from this height, I have no idea what would happen. “Also, no, my magic doesn’t work at the moment. I think it’s something to do with this cage.” I said.  Nicolette continued her search, for a button or maybe a switch of some kind. That’s when the creature began to appear.

A dark shadow began to form behind Nicolette, she was completely unaware of the noiseless creature coming up behind her.

“Nicolette!” I yelled. “Behind you!”  Nicolette turned around quickly and threw one of her knives straight into the beast’s chest. The creature flew backwards and got stuck into the wall by the knife. There was a hissing noise and the shadowy remains of the creature disappeared into thin air. Woah, that was freaky. Wait, is that a switch on the wall where that creature was? I looked at the wall closer, and sure enough it was. “Nicolette! There’s a switch!” I called happily. She looked at the wall and smiled, pressing the switch, the cage shimmered and I was lowered to the ground carefully. “Well, that was, awkward so to say.” Nicolette nodded her head and pointed towards a staircase that had appeared.

“Guess we’re heading up stairs then.”
